Our team includes 100+ ambitious employees who work across various domains, including electricity, renewable gas, carbon offsets, biofuels and energy efficiency. We engage with clients in different markets and countries daily, and it's our job to understand their needs and translate them into effective, efficient solutions. To maintain STX's position as market leader in the fast-changing environmental commodities field, we are continuously capitalizing on new opportunities and optimizing our offering.

As a Senior Originator in the biofuel feedstock market, you play a pivotal role in driving STX's business forward. In this highly competitive market, you'll engage with waste-based feedstock generators to fully grasp their needs, develop tailored solutions and grow the bio feedstock business for STX. The role exposes you to a broad spectrum of professionals at all levels, including logistics providers and biofuel producers, ensuring STX maintains its leadership in the fast-changing environmental commodities market.

While our preference is for the candidate to be based in our Houston or NYC office, we are open to remote work for the right individual.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Build and maintain strong, trust-based relationships with waste-based feedstock generators (e.g., UCO, DCO, tallow, FOG) to grow STX flow
  • Establish the STX brand in the market as a reliable and invaluable counterparty
  • Seek out innovative ways to bring new flow to STX and work with respective STX teams to commercialize and operationalize the offer
  • Develop proprietary market intelligence on the feedstock market to inform trading and global STX biofuels book

KEY REQUIREMENTS
  • 7+ years of experience in the biofuel feedstock market, building and maintaining relationships with waste-based feedstock generators in the US market.
  • Proven track record of originating volume and managing commercial negotiations with counterparties
  • Deep understanding of the biofuel feedstock landscape including key players, suppliers, logistics infrastructure and customers
  • Existing relationships with infrastructure and logistic players (truck, rail, barge) and ability to operationalize deals
  • Demonstrated ability to establish a strong presence and reputation as a reliable partner in the feedstock market
  • Capable team player to work with STX teams to deliver innovative solutions to waste-based feedstock generators
  • Good understanding of market fundamentals and ability to develop proprietary views to inform trading strategies
  • Strong analytical skills, including credit, financial analysis, quantitative, and modeling abilities

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

STX intends on offering the selected candidate a competitive base salary based on a number of objective factors such as relevant experience, holistic skillset, and applicable licenses and certifications. The candidate may also be eligible for discretionary compensation as determined annually within the company fiscal year.
