Description

We are seeking an experienced HR Manager, known internally as People & Culture (P&C) for our North (NORAM) and Latin (LATAM) American regions, known collectively as Americas, to lead the P&C team in driving the strategic and operational people agenda. This role is based in Austin, Texas and plays a critical part in aligning P&C initiatives with business goals, fostering a high-performance culture, and ensuring compliance with local labour laws and global P&C governance standards.

Reporting to the Head of P&C based in Oxford, UK with a strong dotted reporting line to the Managing Director, NORAM and the Managing Director, LATAM, you will serve as their P&C Business Partner and broader leadership team.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership
  • Lead and manage the Americas P&C team, providing strategic direction, leadership, and operational oversight across the P&C functions.
  • Act as the primary point of escalation for the leadership team, facilitating the resolution of complex issues through diplomacy, persuasion, and influence.
  • Foster proactive engagement with Head Office to bridge time zone and communication gaps, ensuring swift decision-making and seamless coordination.
  • Drive initiatives to enhance employee engagement, strengthen organisational culture, and support regional growth objectives.
  • Set a strong culture for the fast-growing regions.
  • Champion diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives across the two regions.

Operational Excellence
  • Independently manage complex employee relations cases, providing expert guidance and support to senior leadership.
  • Collaborate with country-specific P&C teams to address local challenges and ensure compliance with regional employment regulations.
  • Ensure P&C policies, practices, and procedures are compliant with local labour laws.
  • Oversee the localisation of global P&C strategies, aligning them with the regions' unique business and operational needs.
  • Lead the regions' annual performance review process, ensuring fairness, consistency, and alignment with organisational goals.
  • Manage employee relations, grievances, and disciplinary actions in accordance with company policies and local regulations.
  • Partner with the Reward & Benefits team to oversee compensation, bonus, and benefits programmes.
  • Support payroll operations in collaboration with Reward & Benefits, Finance and third-party service providers as required.
  • Work closely with the Group Learning & Development team to design and implement regional training programmes that support inclusivity, and continuous learning.
  • Support Talent Acquisition efforts, serving as an "ambassador" for the company during recruitment and employer branding initiatives.
  • Oversee the annual Americas P&C budgets, ensuring financial stewardship and tracking of expenditures against forecasts.

Stakeholder Engagement
  • Partner with leadership to identify and address key P&C priorities, enabling leaders to focus on core business goals such as revenue growth, product development, and operational delivery.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with senior stakeholders across the two regions and Head Office, promoting cross-regional collaboration and alignment.
  • Actively participate in regional management meetings and P&C presentations, providing insights, updates, and recommendations.
  • Serve as a role model and mentor to the P&C team, fostering our 'One P&C, One Team' value and supporting their development and career growth.

Decision-Making & Problem Solving
  • Tackle complex P&C challenges with sound judgment, creativity, and a proactive mindset.
  • Provide timely, clear, and effective communication of key P&C issues and initiatives to business leaders.
  • Lead the resolution of escalated P&C issues, ensuring effective outcomes and continuous improvement of P&C processes.


What we are looking for
  • Minimum 10+ years' HR and leadership experience, ideally within a professional services or management consulting environment.
  • Professional HR qualification (SHRM, or equivalent) is essential.
  • Proven track record of academic excellence and demonstrated career progression.
  • Extensive expertise in HR practices and Texas state employment laws, with proven experience applying them at a senior level. Familiarity with employment laws in California and New York is a valuable addition.
  • People management experience, with the ability to lead, mentor, and develop P&C teams.
  • Business partnering experience with senior stakeholders, providing guidance and support at a strategic level.
  • Hands-on approach, balancing strategic leadership with daily operational involvement.
  • Data-driven mindset, using analytics to inform decision-making and drive continuous improvement.
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
