Your Role

We have a new opening as the Senior Planning & Scheduling Specialist within the Production Planning organization of Supply Chain for the MilliporeSigma. You will support our 545 South Ewing location in St. Louis, MO.

Key Responsibilities
  • Production Planning and Scheduling
    • Help develop and maintain production schedules to meet customer demand while optimizing resource usage and minimizing downtime.
    • Align production plans with commercial forecasts, sales orders, and inventory needs.
    • Coordinate with operations to ensure timely production and adherence to quality standards.
  • Packaging Planning
    • Plan and support packaging scheduling for custom products, ensuring that packaging materials and processes align with regulatory and quality requirements.
    • Collaborate with packaging and labeling teams to maintain timelines and quality compliance.
  • Buying and Procurement
    • Tracking of raw materials and critical components for custom diagnostic products.
    • Engage sourcing and direct buyers and negotiate terms to support consistent supply and cost management.
    • Work closely with suppliers to resolve any quality or supply disruptions that may impact production schedules.
  • Stakeholder Engagement and Communication
    • Act as the primary liaison between supply chain, operations, commercial teams, and other stakeholders.
    • Facilitate regular meetings and communications to keep stakeholders informed and address potential delays.
    • Ensure alignment across departments to proactively identify and mitigate risks to production timelines.
  • Customer Order Fulfillment
    • Track order statuses and maintain visibility over all stages of the supply chain to meet customer delivery commitments.
    • Troubleshoot delays, bottlenecks, or quality issues to ensure on-time delivery.
    • Provide regular updates to commercial teams on order statuses and potential impacts on customer commitments.
  • Continuous Improvement and Performance Tracking
    • Identify opportunities to enhance supply chain processes for efficiency, reliability, and cost savings.
    • Track and report key performance metrics, such as on-time delivery rates, lead times, and inventory levels.
    • Implement and champion best practices in supply chain planning, production scheduling, and stakeholder collaboration.


Who You Are

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or Engineering field.
  • 3+ years' of experience in a production planning or supply chain role, ideally within a regulated environment such as healthcare, diagnostics, or pharmaceuticals.
  • 1+ years' SAP experience

  • Master's Degree or certifications (e.g., APICS, PMP)

  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills for stakeholder engagement and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Supply Chain Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of production planning, procurement, and logistics, particularly in a manufacturing environment focused on diagnostic or healthcare products.
  • Technical Proficiency: Experience with ERP and supply chain management software, as well as Microsoft Excel and data visualization tools for reporting and analysis
