General Summary
The Senior Process Engineer develops and documents manufacturing techniques, materials, tools, and processes related to back-end semiconductor assembly. Performs analyses and selects techniques to solve problems and enhance product yield and process flows.
Responsibilities
- Establishes high-yielding, cost-effective processes based on product needs and customer requirements.
- Maintains knowledge of new developments in manufacturing and design technologies.
- Develops and executes Design of Experiments (DOE) for process optimization utilizing appropriate statistical analysis software, such as JMP, Minitab, Excel Statistics, or equivalent.
- Establishes processes based on product specifications.
- Evaluates and validate the process and design alternatives based on product manufacturability.
- Understands principles of cost of goods sold and develops process improvements to increase the cost-effectiveness of manufacturing.
- Understands intellectual property issues relative to processes.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline
- A minimum of 5 years experience in manufacturing or engineering.
Preferred Qualifications
- Semiconductor experience including BGA (Ball Grid Array)
- Experience using SPC (Statistical Process Control) relating to product quality
- Knowledge of DOE (Design of Experiment) and problem-solving
- Working knowledge of MIL-PRF-38535, MIL-STD-883, ISO9001, and EIA/JEDEC and standards
- Ability to work within a team and as an individual contributor in a fast-paced, changing environment.
