Role Overview:

The Program Manager for Engineering Development will lead a diverse, cross-functional team through the engineering development phase of a military Avionics program to meet customer needs. This role requires extensive experience in military product development, with a focus on engineering processes and readiness for production ramp-up.

Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage the engineering development phase of the program, ensuring alignment with customer requirements and company objectives.
  • Oversee the engineering development process, ensuring timely and quality deliverables.
  • Collaborate with Operations to support the production ramp-up phase, ensuring readiness for high-volume manufacturing.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, manufacturing, sourcing, quality, supply chain, contracts, and finance.
  • Develop and ensure execution to program schedules, budgets, and resource plans.
  • Identify and mitigate risks throughout the engineering development lifecycle.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
  • Communicate program status, challenges, and successes to senior leadership and stakeholders.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.


Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Program Management and/or Project Management
  • This role requires use of technical data subject to U.S. Government contract restrictions and this posting is only for U.S. Citizens. GE will require proof of status prior to employment.


Preferred Qualifications:
  • 8+ years of experience in Program Management and/or Project Management, with a focus on commercial and military product development and engineering processes.
  • Active security clearance or the ability to obtain clearance.
  • Proven track record of leading cross-functional teams to successful program completion.
  • Strong understanding of engineering development processes and production ramp-up strategies.
  • Excellent program management skills, including scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation.
  • Exceptional communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • PMP or similar certification.

  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements in the aerospace industry.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with customers and stakeholders.


This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information.
