Senior Project Accountant

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Project Accountant for a Real Estate Investment / Development firm in North San Jose.

This newly created role (due to growth) is a great opportunity for someone with a construction accounting experience who enjoys working within a supportive team and enjoys being on the ownership side.

The company is currently undergoing a system conversion, making strong technical skills highly desirable. The ideal candidate will have 4+ years of project accounting experience, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and be comfortable working across all levels of the organization.

Note: This role is 100% onsite.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

• AP and General Ledger - all aspects of construction payables, including coding, and maintenance of job cost reports.
• Billing Coordination
• Compliance for vendors and subcontractors, including insurance requirements, lien releases, W9s
• Accounting file system maintenance
• Journal Entries for corrections and reclassifications
• Contractor payment application processing
• Loan/Investor Compliance - draws, consolidations, reporting
• Month End Close reconciliations, including WIP
• Monthly financial reporting - Job cost budget to actual, balance sheet and income statement, cash flow forecast
• Budget/Change Order Management
• Develop, maintain and communicate Accounting policies and procedures
• Assist with managing outsourced accounting team members

WHAT YOU'LL BRING:

• BA in Accounting, or similar discipline
• 4+ years experience in construction / job cost accounting
• Microsoft Excel - Intermediate to Advanced proficiency
• Sage (or similar system), Quickbooks experience
