• The successful candidate for this position will be a key contributor on a multifunctional, worldwide
• Electrification Solutions product development team responsible for the development and integration of
• these technologies into prototype and production intent machines.
• In addition to demonstrating a mastery of engineering concepts, this position will be expected to lead
• major portions of the project with key focus is on technical delivery.
• Direct collaboration with other team
• members across Caterpillar and suppliers will require the incumbent to demonstrate skill in negotiation,
• building consensus and achieving compromise. Impact of the decisions made by this position will be farreaching and have a direct influence on the success of the Caterpillar Electrification program and impact
• long term Caterpillar technology strategy.
• Major challenges facing incumbents are keeping up-to-date with the state-of-the-art electrification
• technologies and demonstrating technical expertise in the design of diverse systems. This position must
• demonstrate the ability to manage work in accordance with a complex project plan and coordinating
• efforts with plans from other project participants

Technical leadership skills are essential and the incumbent must be able to communicate effectively

across Caterpillar organization and multitude of external project partners and suppliers.

Key areas of responsibility encountered in this role will include the following: performing needs analysis

and initiating design and integration ideas of electric, electronic and electro-mechanical systems, refining

designs in accordance with applicable design guides and standards, managing positive BOM to support

prototype builds, documenting build and mechanical durability problems using issue tracking tools,

managing project to the plan, keeping up to date on new technologies and contribute to the development

of new technologies, communicating project status to stakeholders, team members, external entities and

supporting other engineers on various electrification and integration activities. Other skills critical to this

position include problem solving, spatial and conceptual design and hands-on practical abilities.

Previous Caterpillar product design experience, and knowledge of Caterpillar products and those of the

competition is highly desirable.
