Description:
A Senior Project Engineer is responsible for designing and executing Network and systems projects to address business challenges across our client base. The Senior Project Engineer is a client facing position and requires a customer focused individual with the ability to provide excellent remote face to face customer service. Efficient execution and resolution of assigned Projects while providing a best-in-class customer experience is the primary objective of the Senior Project Engineer. Benefiting from an analytical, inquiring and critical mind, this job requires imagination and strong problem solving skills, but with a strong technical orientation. The job requires an ability to deal with abstract concepts, systems and ideas and all of that in an organized and self-disciplined way. A successful Senior Project Engineer will maintain a respectful, friendly, and helpful demeanor at all times and operate with a sense of urgency.

Salary Description
$105,000 - $125,000 per year
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITES (Include the following but are not limited to)
- Designing and implementing new network solutions and/or improving the efficiency of current networks (including WAN/LAN and Wireless)
- Configuring firewalls, routing and switching to maximize network efficiency and security
- AD design, configuration, and implementation
- Responsible for configuring and implementing ESXi hosts, configuring the hypervisor, and ensuring the proper networking setup
- Participate in VDI architecture design and configure network connectivity for VDI deployments
- Configure and implement NAS solutions within the network infrastructure
- Create and implement network security measures
- Wireless network architecture design and support including Radius, controllers and wireless management software
- Executing projects following company standards
- Preparing project documentation, identify changes and document results
- May be required at times to perform project onsite at various client locations
- Learning new technologies, procedures, and solutions
- Mentor junior network engineers in business and technical skills
- Documents time and interactions with end users using centrexIT's ITSM while following defined standards and processes for entering time, communicating with clients, and updating tickets
- Collaborate with the Project Field Engineer on new hardware and software installations/upgrades
- Work with cross-functional teams in the design and implementation of information technology
- Work Instruction creation, approval, testing, and adherence
- May at times serve as an onboarding resource by preparing new client's networks documentation by completing standardized onboarding tasks
- May at times serve as an offboarding resource by executing and completing standardized offboarding tasks
- Draft and submit daily project updates
- Ensuring the project's compliance with the applicable codes, practices, policies, performance standards, and specifications
- Operating within a change management process
- Identifies and declares breakdowns within systems and processes
- Communicate openly and authentically with internal team and clients to ensure breakdowns are acknowledged and addressed in a timely manner and works towards a shared outcome ensuring the best possible user experience
- Develops and maintains excellent team member and client relationships
- Communicates with client as required: keeping them informed of project progress, notifying them of impending changes or agreed outages, and following up as necessary or as process defines.
- Respond promptly and professionally with clients and fellow team members, keeping commitments or resetting expectations when necessary

- Participate in daily team meetings to review assigned projects
- Accounts for 100% of time worked by documenting in centrexIT ITSM

- Is on time and ready to work at the beginning of shift

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
- Advanced knowledge of communication routing protocols (OSPF, BGP, MPLS, as well as TCP/IP).
- Experience with configuring and implementing a VMware/Virtualization environment
- Extensive knowledge of Microsoft server and desktop operating systems, specifically Server 2012 R2, 2016 ,2019, and 2022 and Windows 10 and 11 as well as Microsoft 365, Exchange Online, OneDrive, Azure AD etc.
- Knowledge in network design and implementation
- Experience with major network manufactures (Cisco, Meraki, Fortinet, Ubiquiti)
- Experience designing and implementing Windows networks
- Experience designing and implementing RDS Farms, and virtual workstation
- Experience executing email migrations
- Experience executing Active Directory upgrades
- Experience installing and configuring Active Directory, DFS, Terminal Servers and Farms, IIS, and File Servers
- Extensive troubleshooting skills with wireless, cellular networking, routing, network technologies (firewalls, VPN)
- Experience supporting Microsoft 365 platforms, including advanced troubleshooting, logging, debugging, and end-user support
- Strong documentation skills and attention to detail

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- BS Degree (Computer Science, Information Systems, or like field preferred), but associate degree and/or equivalent work experience would be considered
- IT industry certifications from Microsoft, Cisco, and VMware preferred
- 10+ years of network administration experience
- Previous experience working with or for an MSP
- Previous experience with ITSM ticketing system(s)
- Experience with multiple OS platforms: Windows, MAC OS, Linux, iOS and Android
- ITIL Foundation (Preferred)
