We are looking for a Project Engineer to join our FE_Energy team in Houston, TX.
Your main tasks and responsibilities:
- Participates in the supervision of projects, in regards to the completion of:
- Review and compilation of project specifications and procedures, engineering schedules, assignment of resources and estimated costs
- Preparation of design concepts, including calculations, layouts and prototype testing of components, assemblies and equipment
- Preparation of design layouts for assemblies and components
- Preparation of engineering details and drawings, using Computer Aided Design (CAD) systems
- Preparation of Bills of Materials and Engineering Specifications or other detailed documentation to record design requirements
- Ensures that design details are cost effective, conform to customer requirements and company standards. Verifies and validates work done by Drafters and Design Engineers.
- Organizes and supports administrative functions, of the department, including order review, design review, and project team meetings.
- Oversees the technical activities of engineers, designers and drafters, and takes responsibility for accuracy and completeness of engineering work outputs.
- Provides training and direction for engineers, designers, and drafters, in the execution of their assigned duties.
- Assists engineering management in the training, development, and motivation of engineering personnel
- Adheres to company and department policies, procedures, and standards
- Supports, cooperates with, and participates in company-wide EHS Management System which includes following all safety, health and environmental policies and procedures. Supports and cooperates in company-wide Quality Management effort.
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field, or equivalent training and experience required.
- Good interpersonal, communication, analytical, and computer skills
- Eight (8) years experience in the design of rotating equipment
- Mechanical design (3D models) and drafting skills (2D drawings); Experience with NX preferred by not Required
- Working knowledge of ANSI and ISO Drafting Standards
- Mastery of engineering concepts and application principles, of all core products, or has demonstrated related equivalent experience
