We seek a full-time Senior Project Manager working under the direction of the Executive Director of Facilities to provide plan development and production oversight for capital projects at the College. This includes the coordination of construction design and engineering, project bidding, and implementation.

Description
We seek a full-time Senior Project Manager working under the direction of the Executive Director of Facilities to provide plan development and production oversight for capital projects at the College. This includes the coordination of construction design and engineering, project bidding, and implementation.
General responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Coordinate and prepare facility services and construction specifications and bid documents. Draft request for proposals (RFPs) and develop scope of work. Assist in the negotiation of contracts, select consultants and administer contracts for consulting architects, engineers, contractors, and project management resources. Ensure compliance with published construction plans and specifications.
- Supervise and coordinate the design and permit process and work of contractors, engineers, architects, design professionals, and others to assure efficient and economical use of program funds, personnel, materials, facilities, and time. Review work for compliance with contract documents and appropriate guidelines, laws, and regulations.
- Prepare and monitor individual project budget summaries, assuring expenditures are within approved budget, tracking changes to the contract documents that may result in change orders. Make recommendations to the Executive Director on change orders as necessary. Assist with project financial reports, accounting, and grant reimbursement.
- Develop and maintain data systems and records to track the process and progress of each project for proper evaluation, control, and documentation to ensure compliance with city, state, and federal requirements
- Plan, conduct, and present at project related meetings
- Serve as a resource to the Executive Director and other College departments by consulting on facility issues. Act as liaison between end users, College staff, and contractors on College projects. Assure effective communication among consultants, contractors, department heads and other stakeholders. Conduct needs assessment and meet with College personnel to assure needs are being met by proposed designs and specifications.
- Participate in the planning process for future work, including cost estimations and scope definitions for Facilities long-term planning
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, facilities management, business administration, or closely related field
- Minimum of 5 years of increasingly responsible project management experience in a position responsible for overseeing all aspects of large scale educational/commercial capital projects
- Strong knowledge of construction rules and regulations for compliance, including current life safety and accessibility codes and requirements
- Demonstrated ability to negotiate and uphold terms of contracts, as well as design and construction business practices including but not limited to: scope preparation, contract issues, insurance requirements, invoicing, request for proposals
- Knowledge of request for proposals (RFP) process and contractual terms and conditions.
- Ability to work effectively and inclusively with internal and external constituents and consider the diverse needs of those accessing College facilities
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Proficiency with the use of standard office software and equipment, with a high proficiency in mark-up software, AutoCAD, or BIM (Building Information Modeling)
Desired Qualifications
- Master's degree in architecture, engineering, or construction management
- Licensed Architect in the state of Illinois
- Over 10 years of facility construction/renovation and operations experience
- Over 5 years of experience in a public educational or campus setting
