Senior Project Manager

Programmatic need being met by this request: Seeking a Sr Project Management Professional with extensive construction management experience to help monitor construction and compliance activities, schedule alignment and potential risks to an on-time completion of a very large, international infrastructure project.

What skills are needed to be successful in this role?

Client's Tier 4 Program is seeking a senior-level project management resource with extensive experience in construction management, in-field monitoring, scheduling and risk, and contract compliance. Skills include:

-Lead construction management and monitoring expertise

-Lead schedule creation, forecasting and analysis, including time and resources experience

-Ability to travel across proejct area for in-field site visits and attending meetings

-Expertise in contract interpretation and analysis of compliance

-Familiar with RFP development and evaluation

-Knowledge of Article VII permitting processes

-Strengths to develop and maintain relationships with state regulatory agencies

-Ability to work independantly

-Excellent writing and communication skills

-Experience cross-collaborating to assist with program event planning and development of materials for the media

Are there any specialized skills that must be present for the position to be successful?

Ability to create schedules with dependencies and predecessors, and perform analysis on schedule shift. Demonstrated experience developing KPIs for construction projects, monitoring and reporting on risk and proposing mitigation. Ability to develop schedule forecasts.

Are there any skills or tasks that the resource needs at start of engagement?

Familiarity with client Article VII Environmental Management and Construction Plan processes, and ability to navigate Department of Public Service's Document and Matter Management System.

Certifications and qualifications, including education/degree

Certified PMP, preferred

B.S + 10 years of construction experience, or MS + 3-7 years of construction experience, mandatory OSHA 10-Hour construction safety training- minimum level, mandatory

Desired: Railroad Safety Certification

Tasks

• Lead monitoring and reporting of construction progress, attend multi-agency meetings and analyze submitted reports;
• Organize and lead site visits in the field throughout project corridor;
• Lead the proactive identification, and reporting on project and schedule risk along with mitigation activities as needed;
• Perform contract compliance monitoring and maintain tracking tools, escalating issues as needed;
• Maintain construction reports and documentation on Sharepoint;
• Participate in internal and external project meetings;
• Develop appropriate project metrics and tracking mechanisms;
• Generate charts, tables and tools as necessary to quickly convey project status to executives; and
• Other duties as required that contribute to the key outcomes of the Large Scale Renewables team

Has extensive awareness of social, economic and environmental contexts of energy technology of Deployment issues. Recognized outside of client as a known expert in the field.

Creativity in Project & Program Development:

Has demonstrated ability to develop and manage major complex projects. Is the creative force behind at least one whole technical or Deployment area within a program. Has demonstrated capability to build/maintain a new multi-project program in at least one program element involving several interrelated projects to meet a technical or program goal. Has demonstrated ability to obtain co-funding or leverage private resources for projects with little or no assistance from the supervisor.

Organization Skills & Productivity:

Has consistently demonstrated the ability to put required level of program in place. Is Authority resource capable of leading difficult technical and project management work groups and assignments. Prioritizes, manages and self-initiates multiple assignments while consistently taking charge of work groups.

Has demonstrated ability to act as team leader and thought leader of interdepartmental working groups on complex and/or sensitive assignments.
