SUMMARY: The Senior Project Manager is a leadership role responsible for overseeing and managing high-profile projects within the organization. Building upon the responsibilities of a Project Manager, they provide strategic direction, guidance, and support to project teams, ensuring successful project delivery. The Senior Project Manager focuses on high-risk and high-profile projects, coordinating multiple teams and stakeholders to achieve project objectives. They contribute to the development and improvement of project management processes, mentor project managers, and provide expertise in project execution.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Project Planning and Strategy:
- Collaborate with executive leadership to define project objectives, scope, and success criteria.
- Develop project plans, including timelines, resource allocation, and budgeting, in alignment with business goals.
- Establish project governance structure, project management methodologies, and best practices.
- Provide strategic direction and guidance to project managers and teams.
Project Execution and Control:
- Oversee the execution of high-risk and high-profile projects, ensuring adherence to project plans and standards.
- Monitor project progress, milestones, and deliverables, identifying and addressing any deviations or risks.
- Coordinate project resources, including teams, vendors, and external stakeholders.
- Conduct regular project reviews and assessments, implementing corrective actions as needed.
Stakeholder Management:
- Engage and collaborate with stakeholders, including clients, executives, and project teams.
- Manage stakeholder expectations, ensuring effective communication and alignment throughout the project lifecycle.
- Foster strong relationships with stakeholders, addressing concerns and resolving conflicts.
Team Leadership and Mentoring:
- Provide leadership, supervision, guidance, and support to project managers and teams, fostering a collaborative and high-performing culture.
- Mentor and coach project managers, promoting their professional growth and development.
- Foster a positive and productive team environment, encouraging innovation, problem-solving, and continuous improvement.
Project Governance and Improvement:
- Contribute to the development and enhancement of project management processes, methodologies, and tools.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements, efficiency gains, and cost optimization.
- Drive the adoption of best practices and lessons learned across projects and teams.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, standards, and organizational policies.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Business Administration, Engineering, Construction Management) or equivalent experience.
- Extensive experience as a successful project manager on a variety of project types, with a proven track record of delivering complex projects on time and within budget.
- Federal construction project management experience is highly desirable.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate cross-functional teams.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and negotiate with stakeholders at all levels.
- In-depth knowledge of project management methodologies, tools, and best practices.
- Strategic mindset with the ability to align projects with broader organizational goals.
- Proven ability to thrive in high-pressure environments and make informed decisions.
- PMP (Project Management Professional) certification or equivalent is highly desirable.
- Practical application of industry-specific regulations, standards, and best practices related to high-risk and high-profile projects.
