Job Description
Position Summary
This position offers the opportunity to lead and manage large, complex design and consulting projects in the life sciences industry. The Senior Project Manager is responsible for the direction and performance of consulting and design services for projects of a major scope, valuation and complexity. The incumbent will be responsible for client relationship management, including the creation of a positive experience that will lead to future work. Projects will often include multiple subcontracts and may include several aspects of an integrated project delivery methodology.
Principal areas of responsibility include subcontractor management, change management, project control and reporting, project staffing, adherence to quality plan, project budget, and project schedule. The project manager is accountable for project financial performance and ensuring work is performed in conformance with project objectives and requirements.
Responsibilities
Develop proposals to win new opportunities
Develop comprehensive project plans and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders
Support business development efforts
Relationship management of the client, local authorities, CRB project team
Participate in monthly project and risk reviews
Project set-up and close-out tasks (project planning, etc.)
Monitor project progress, manage issues that arise, and report project status to senior management
Ensure projects adhere to industry standards and methodologies.
Identify project risks and develop risk mitigation strategies
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree Architecture, Engineering, or Construction Management, or a related field
Minimum of seven years of successful Project Management experience in a design firm setting
Proven track record of delivering large-scale design or construction projects on time and within budget.
Ability to lead projects that incorporate multiple disciplines
Additional Qualifications
Demonstrated success in acting as a Project Manager within the life sciences industry
Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
Team-oriented individual capable of leading and managing large teams including subcontractors
Intermediate understanding of all core engineering disciplines, project execution, and delivery in a design and/or construction firm setting
Industry certification, e.g. PMP
