Duties, Responsibilities & Other
The Senior Project Planner independently performs professional planning tasks in support of watershed planning, stormwater management, ecosystem services, and other resilience and green infrastructure project development and management. The successful applicant must be willing to participate as both a team member and team leader as necessary to fulfill work assignments. The ideal candidate will also assist in marketing and business development for project development throughout the Southeast. Strong communications skills are required (verbal and writing).

Education and/or Skills Required:
Minimum of 10 years of experience in related field.
Bachelor's degree in environmental planning, transportation planning, urban planning or related discipline
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
Proficiency in GIS software.
Excellent public speaking, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
Strong leadership, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
Strong strategic thinking and decision-making skills.
Good communication and technical writing skills.
Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think critically
Certificates, licenses, and/or Registrations Required:

Experience
- Minimum of 10-15 years of experience in natural resource planning and management.
- Have a demonstrated ability to develop and maintain positive client relationships.
- Experience with municipal engineering/environmental services in various jurisdictions is a plus.
Skills and Duties
- Performs and manages complex professional planning projects, research and analysis related to floodplain resilience, watershed planning, ecosystem restoration, and stormwater management.
- Strong understanding of local, state, and federal regulations and trends related to natural resource and resilience topics throughout the Southeast.
- Lead the development of and assemble organized, clear, and cohesive technical reports with input from supporting staff.
- Presents at public outreach meetings and community engagement events as needed in support of project development.
- Understands funding sources for public projects and supports grant proposals for client projects.
- Conducts field evaluations and assessments to support studies and reports.
- Participates in proposal and task order preparation.
- Demonstrated skills in organization, time management, strong task management and interpersonal skills are required.
- The ability to work in a team environment and with individuals across other disciplines, offices, and geographies is a must.
- Utilizes ESRI mapping and Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access)
Other
- Travel throughout the Southeast region, with overnight travel required on occasion.
- Occasional field work under adverse weather conditions.
