We are seeking a Quality Control Engineer with a strong foundation in quality management principles, systems, and methodologies. This role requires an individual who can oversee quality assurance processes, support compliance efforts, and drive continuous improvement within an industrial or manufacturing setting. The ideal candidate will have expertise in customer satisfaction, supplier performance management, team collaboration, and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement and maintain quality management systems that align with industry regulations and company policies.
- Develop and document quality processes, ensuring compliance with both domestic and international standards.
- Conduct audits, including planning, execution, and follow-up activities, to assess quality system effectiveness.
- Establish and manage quality programs, including tracking metrics, analyzing performance, and identifying areas for improvement.
- Ensure product and process quality control through strategic planning, material oversight, acceptance sampling, and measurement system analysis.
- Participate in product application quality assurance, including design, manufacturing, and construction oversight.
- Utilize quality improvement tools to identify root causes of nonconformities and implement corrective actions.
- Gather, analyze, and interpret data using statistical methods to facilitate process enhancements.
- Apply risk analysis techniques to assess potential issues and develop mitigation strategies.
- Collaborate with stakeholders, including supervisors, process owners, and operators, to enhance quality initiatives.
- Support employees in streamlining job functions to improve efficiency and compliance.
- Maintain and update company procedures and work instructions to ensure alignment with quality standards.
- Investigate nonconformities and recommend corrective actions to enhance product and service quality.
Quality Management Systems (QMS):
- Assist the Quality Manager in sustaining and improving the company's Quality Management System.
- Support internal, client, and third-party audits to ensure adherence to industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Contribute to the development and refinement of quality system procedures and documentation.
- Lead and participate in training programs to foster a culture of quality and continuous improvement.
- Engage in quality team meetings and contribute to ongoing improvement projects.
- Provide input for management reviews and quality performance assessments.
Project Quality Oversight:
- Act as a liaison between project teams and quality management to ensure project-specific quality requirements are met.
- Review contracts and participate in tendering processes to assess quality implications.
- Engage in engineering design reviews, providing insights on drawings, calculations, and specifications.
- Develop and maintain project-specific quality plans and risk assessments.
- Create and oversee the implementation of Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs).
- Support supply quality initiatives, including supplier audits and purchase order quality reviews.
- Investigate and resolve quality concerns related to products and services.
- Lead root cause analysis efforts and facilitate corrective action implementation.
- Assist in managing customer complaints and implementing resolution strategies.
- Ensure timely documentation and release of final project records, including manufacturing data books.
- Conduct quality audits and project assessments to confirm adherence to contractual obligations.
- Participate in project meetings, reviews, and quality reporting initiatives.
- Track and report key quality performance indicators, including nonconformance reports (NCRs) and corrective action requests (CARs).
- Communicate project quality updates and lessons learned to relevant stakeholders.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Strong knowledge of quality management principles, regulatory compliance, and industry standards (e.g., ISO 9001, AWS, ASME Sec IX, VIII Div 1 & 2).
- Ability to interpret mechanical and structural drawings.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) or equivalent software.
- Capability to obtain a TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential).
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as needed.
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience (minimum 3 years in a quality-related role).
- 3+ years of experience in quality assurance, quality control, or quality management.
- Experience in manufacturing, engineering, or oilfield applications.
- Knowledge of ISO, API, ASME, and ASNT standards.
- Familiarity with project quality management methodologies.
- Certification in ISO 9000 Lead Auditing preferred.
- Additional quality certifications (e.g., ASQ MQ/OE, CQE, CQA, CQT) are a plus.
- Training in facilitation techniques for meetings and workshops.
- Understanding of welding applications and non-destructive testing (NDT) processes.
