This role reports into our Specialty Chemical Distribution (SCD) Division located in Sparks, NV. This is an on-site position, and you must be able to reliably commute to our location in Sparks.

You will lead the development and execution of lean business processes in manufacturing and distribution center environments to effectively identify and resolve quality issues. You will also utilize Six Sigma methodologies to analyze quality data and metrics to identify areas for improvement and recommend and implement enhancements to the Quality Management System and lead multiple interdepartmental quality projects spanning various timeframes to completion.

Responsibilities
  • Leads the Quality Notification (QN) process and ensures all QNs are addressed in a timely manner.
  • Reviews, investigates, and gathers information on corrective actions and complaint requests. This includes determining root cause, facilitating and assigning responsibility for completing the actions, verification of effectiveness, and follow-up until the corrective action is complete.
  • Manages the calibration program and ensures compliance to standards. Recommends changes to equipment and/or calibration schedule based on data.
  • Works with all departments in the development and implementation of Standardized Operating Processes, Job Work Instructions (JWI's), Leader Standard Work, ensuring compliance to the AS9120 & ISO 9001:2015 standards. Maintains documentation in the Quality Management System (QMS).
  • Increases utilization of the QMS through use of additional applications and improves quality efficiencies with the utilization of dashboards and reports. Provides education and training to the organization on new and existing applications, as required. Provides recommendations and implements improvements to the QMS. Leads internal audits of the quality management system, including document review, interviewing company employees at all levels of the organization, corrective action assignment, follow-up and detailed report writing.

Qualifications
  • 5 + years of experience in a Quality or Engineering-related function
  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college in Engineering or related field. Other combinations of education and experience may be considered
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and prioritize workload.
  • Ability to influence and build strong relationships with cross-functional teams.
  • Experience working in multidisciplinary environments.
  • Firm understanding of Lean principles.
  • Six Sigma Yellow Belt or above preferred.
  • Ability to lead problem solving teams utilizing 8D methodology
  • Experience in the chemical industry, and/or assembly, machining, and distribution environments preferred.
