Task provides Program Management support to the SMD Astrophysics Division at NASA Headquarters.
The Astrophysics Division (APD) in the Science Mission Directorate (SMD) at NASA HQ, requires high-level Program Management support with a focus on knowledge management in space science missions, at both program and project level, with an understanding of NASA Headquarters processes and procedures used in managing astrophysics missions.

Monthly Report - The monthly report shall be sent electronically and shall be delivered in Word or PowerPoint format. The report shall be delivered on the 5th of each month or on the next business day should the 5th be a weekend or holiday. At a minimum the monthly report should include Task Order title, Contract#, Period of Performance (POP), time period report covers, funds obligated, expended, next allotment date, estimated funds required to reach the end of the POP, risks and issues

Requirements shall include but are not limited to:
- Support APD's engagement and Science Activation efforts, run through the and Engagement Branch within SMD, with a focus on outreach to the scientific community
- assist the APD in process review and improvement.
- The duty may include assisting the APD program scientists in routine program and project management activities such as organizing and running grants proposal review panels and running community workshops and sessions at professional conferences.
- The employee may support NASA civil servants in attending interagency and/or international meetings and/or suborbital field campaign activities as a subject matter expert.
- Supporting the development processes and maintenance processes required to implement Division strategies.
- Reviewing documentation of Division policies and procedures for accuracy, consistency, and soundness. Recommend updates and implementing documentation updates.
- Providing project management support to assigned special projects for APD management.
- Work closely with APD communications and engagement staff in a team-oriented manner, ensuring open flow of communications to relevant parties in APD, Engagement Branch, OCOMM, OIIR, and others involved in event planning and outreach.
- Provide analyses of public program planning, web analytics, and conduct research to develop efficient processes with division and subject matter experts.
- Support coordination with the Division's interagency and international partners through participation in working groups, research, and conferences.
- Develop and foster relationships with Agency points of contact, advisory committee members, and the scientific community to further the Division's research and program goals.
- Assist with booth staffing during events and opportunities; act as extra staff to all APD mission events when needed.
- Properly equip and empower others to do their own jobs, serving as a sounding board as needed and keeping in mind enterprise-wide goals.
- Build bridges, even in times of strife and discord, and work to focus people on their common goals.
