Within SRPS, the Plan Administration team is responsible ensuring timely and accurate servicing for 1000+ plan sponsor clients and 1.3 million participants. The Document Services team is responsible for administering qualified defined contribution plans, providing document and consulting services for plans converting to SRPS and maintaining documents for clients who use SRPS prepared pre-approved plan document.
The Senior Manager is responsible for the management and coordination of internal department and Schwab Retirement Plan Services, Inc. (SRPS) initiatives, drafting sophisticated legal documents and mentoring junior team members. This individual serves as a liaison with colleagues on the development of new policies, procedures and legal documentation for product development and/or regulatory requirements that impact retirement plan documents and SRPS agreements. In addition, this individual will be responsible for delivering consultative support and accurate documents to internal partners, clients and their advisors.
What you'll do:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent and 10+ years' experience in the financial services and/or record keeping industry preferred. Incumbent must have extensive knowledge and research capabilities with respect to IRS and DOL regulations with respect to qualified defined contribution, defined benefit, and non-qualified deferred compensation plans.

What you'll do:
- Collaborate effectively and accurately in the completion of sophisticated document drafting assignments, discovery and correction of potential compliance issues and intensified situations
- Represent Document Services in SRPS initiatives: provide input and recommendations to achieve common objectives; communicate proposed changes effectively to department leaders; upon approval, update internal procedures as needed and effectively train department personnel
- Analyze and serve as a subject matter authority in a peer review capacity on draft documents in tandem with operational considerations; identify potential manual processes; recommend and implement approved alternatives that conform to system capabilities and achieve client objectives
- Provide consultative support to internal partners, review complex and unique requests with the Legal department and serve as a subject matter expert on calls with clients, their designated consultant and legal counsel

- Drafting pre-approved documents, amendments, SPDs, SMMs and ancillary forms
- Knowledge of Services Agreements and preparation of Services Agreement Amendments
- Regulatory requirements regarding qualification of Domestic Relations Orders and the ability to resolve unique or escalated issues
- Full oversight of a long-term department initiative
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Ability to translate client intention into document drafting that achieves business objectives
- Knowledge of organizational policies, procedures, products & services
- Strong interpersonal, analytical, problem solving, negotiating, influencing, organizational, prioritization, decision-making and conflict resolution skills
- Ability to effectively mentor and promote professional development of junior team members
- Results-oriented approach to business
- ASPPA designations, CEBS, paralegal certification or JD viewed favorably
- Experience with ASC and Document Agility generation systems a plus
