Role Summary and PurposeYouwilldrive the design of RF Systems in Packages (SiPs). Aspartof the New Product Introduction (NPI) Design Team, youwillplay a crucial role in developing cutting-edge, state-of-the-art RF products capable of both a broad frequency range (DCto60GHz, and beyond) and wide power handling abilities. Youwillworktogetherwitha team of design, packaging, test, product, application and integration engineers in power and RF products that use our innovative MEMS switch technology.In this role as a senior RF design engineer, youwillensure technical attainment of all design and qualification requirements, including characterization and reliability testing, and youwillparticipate in the timely release-to-production of Menlo Micro products.
Youwillreporttothe Director of RF Design and Product Development, as a core member of the New Product Introduction (NPI) team andworkacross the entire company organization. Youwilldirectlyimpact critical roadmaps and create new product developments.Projectswillencompass design, characterization, packaging, RF, electrical, mechanical, and test considerations, alongwithdata analysis, reliability testing, and root cause problem solving neededtovalidate the designs you create and launch them into production.
Essential ResponsibilitiesThis is a hands-onrole, and key responsibilities include:
- Development of RF switch solutions and related circuits for a wide variety ofhigh-performance applications
- Conducting lab testing and characterization ofhighlyintegrated RF system in package solutions
- Taking a hands-onapproachtodesign responsibility, including driving the spec development, device architecture, test requirements, trade-off assessments, and layouttoreach the product specification goals
- Presenting detailed design reviews covering all aspects of the architecture, schematic, packaging, electromagnetic (EM) simulations, and thermal considerations
- Workingcloselywithour test development teamtoensure comprehensive verification, characterization, qualification, and production test capabilities
- Driving verification and qualification testingtodemonstrate compliancetospec
- Communicating effectivelywithcolleaguesatall levels, leveraging your problem solving, data analysis, and critical thinking skills
- Providing input and feedback into the next generation product roadmaps, specifications, and development.
- Bachelors or higher-leveldegreein electrical engineering
- Deep understanding of EM theory, RF design, and layout
- Comprehensive product development experience from design throughtomanufacturing and deployment
- Proficiency utilizing critical simulation & design tools including SPICE, ADS/AWR/EMpro/RFPro/Momentum, HFSS, CST, COMSOL, Altium or similar tools
- Knowledge of RF device test and test automation, including passive components like couplers, baluns and matching networks
- Demonstrated sound DOE practices and abilitytoinvestigate, determine root cause, and implement appropriate corrective actions using statistical data analysis methods
- The abilitytoworkin a multi-disciplinary team environment
