Services is a growing component of the overall delivery of value to ATS' customers globally, and offers an opportunity for an opportunistic individual to create a well-defined offer structure of high-value service solutions to drive ongoing value.

The role of the Senior Sales/Applications Engineer will work directly with our Services, Sales, Operations, Divisional, and Management teams to develop and propose world class service solutions. The role brings an attractive balance between the technical and commercial aspects of our business, while helping our customers maximize the value of their investments through our value-add services.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop service solutions based on your knowledge and experience with automation, and ATS standard service products.
  • Manage proposal development including writing of detailed service proposals leveraging ATS standard service product library.
  • Work with customer specifications, objectives, and standards as required.
  • Prepare costs for service solutions and related options, following ATS governance and approval processes.
  • Involve appropriate engineering, management, and other technical resources in service concept and cost development as required.
  • Involve third party vendors and suppliers in the quoting process, where necessary.
  • Travel to customer sites to assist in service assessments, solution or service product development.
  • Provide input to account capture teams and assist with executing sales strategies.
  • Mentor junior engineers in sales applications roles.
  • Develop customer relationships, representing ATS' service and technical capabilities to the customer.
  • Provide sales presentations to customer personnel when required.
  • Support special projects for services, engineering, and sales & marketing, as required.
  • Work in compliance with divisional health, safety and environmental procedures and attend all required training.
  • Ensure that all business activities are performed with the highest ethical standards and in compliance with the ATS Code of Business Conduct.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • A post-secondary diploma or degree in mechanical design, mechatronics, engineering, or equivalent.
  • A minimum of 7 years of experience in mechanical or electrical engineering support, preferably in an automation environment.
  • Must have a working knowledge of robotics, machine controls and manufacturing processes and be able to keep abreast of leading - edge technology.
  • In addition, must have excellent skills with Microsoft Office (Word and Excel) and AutoCAD or similar drawing package.
  • An ability to present ideas, concepts and pricing information in a clear, concise manner suitable for technical audiences is essential.
