Bamford Produce Company Ltd. was established in 1881 and is a fourth-generation family business. Our company is a food service distributor and the only produce foodservice distributor with stalls at the Ontario Food Terminal in Ontario. We also boast of being the only member of Proact in Ontario.

Job brief

The primary focus of this position is to develop new business accounts for Bamford Produce. Reporting to the president, the successful candidate will strive to achieve maximum sales profitability, growth and account penetration within our areas of current distribution. The successful candidate must have 5 years of Sales experience in the foodservice/produce industry.

Responsibilities
  • Personally, research, contact and secure new business
  • Visit existing accounts in assigned territories to identify opportunities for growth
  • Present new products to existing large-volume Bamford accounts in order to leverage our current business
  • Communicate daily with potential customers and provide assistance where required
  • Prioritize, fulfill, or delegate as applicable all customer requests
  • Complete required paperwork on a daily basis including locations visited, customer complaints and feedback (KPIs)
  • Attend monthly sales meetings
  • Provide weekly recaps to the senior management team
  • Meet customer service expectations through daily communication, problem resolution, and appropriate follow up
  • Maintain professional, team relationships with co-workers and customers

Job Terms
  • Job Type: Permanent Full-time
  • Probationary Period: 3 months or 480 hours, whichever longer
  • Primary Report Location: 2501-A Stanfield Rd, Mississauga ON, L4Y 1R6
  • Shift Requirement: Flexible, up to negotiation
  • Compensation:
  • Base annual salary: up to $90k per year + commission, depends on experience
  • Monthly car allowance

  • Aggressive incentive program based on sales

Qualifications:
  • 5 years of Sales experience in the foodservice industry or produce sector
  • Understanding of sales positioning and sale tactics
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Expertise and some competence in sales program administration and implementation
  • Excellent communication, organizational and problem-solving skills
  • General knowledge of GTA maps and routes
  • Ability to multi-task and work independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Previous sales experience as an asset
  • Foodservice industry knowledge, preferably in the produce Industry
  • Computer proficient
  • College diploma Degree
