Position Overview:
We are seeking a Senior Scientist in Hardware and ASIC Engineering to join the Navigation Solutions team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in hardware and ASIC engineering, with expertise in military GPS, Position Navigation, Timing (PNT) technology, or other RF hardware designs. This role will focus on providing hands-on leadership and expertise across multiple programs, contributing to advanced embedded real-time systems in various environments, including weapons, ground, airborne, maritime, and space.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide hands-on technical expertise in ASIC and hardware engineering for program development.
  • Recognized as a subject matter expert in ASIC design, development, testing, and manufacturing.
  • Foster a cohesive and trusted team environment within the ASIC and hardware engineering organization.
  • Collaborate with internal and external teams to explain policies and gain cooperation on practices.
  • Drive improvements in processes, systems, and solutions.
  • Set goals and objectives for ASIC and hardware engineering, influencing both short-term and long-term operational results.
  • Lead, direct, coach, and review the work of ASIC and hardware engineering personnel to meet operational goals.
  • Manage large, complex project initiatives under consultative direction to achieve strategic organizational objectives.
  • Maintain strong communication with senior management and internal employees.
  • Collaborate with other business units to execute programs and support business development efforts.
  • On-site presence required, with occasional travel (up to 10%).

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in STEM or a related field with at least 15 years of relevant experience, or a Graduate degree with at least 13 years of experience. In lieu of a degree, 19+ years of relevant experience.
  • 20+ years of hands-on experience in ASIC engineering, including signal processing design, development, testing, and manufacturing for both defense and commercial applications.
  • Experience with ASICs that have gates/transistors or more.
  • Proficiency in ASIC architecture, RTL coding, synthesis, simulation, emulation, power analysis, placement, routing, layout, and timing.
  • Extensive experience in leading senior ASIC teams.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage with both internal teams and external stakeholders.

Preferred Skills:
  • Recognized as an expert in the ASIC industry.
  • Experience with ASIC designs in military GPS, MGNSS, and other PNT technologies.
  • Deep knowledge of ASIC capabilities including throughput, power consumption, thermal management, aging, and packaging.
  • Expertise with various ASIC software tools, including Palladium, Xcelium, Genus, Indago, JasperGold, and Conformal XL.
  • Skilled in troubleshooting ASIC designs in hardware labs.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills across various organizational levels.
