Senior Scientist

Job Description:

Pay Range: $40.65hr - $43.65hr

Responsibilities:

• Perform scientific experiments that contribute to core group/research goals and reflect expert knowledge in development of biological drugs and in the area of protein purification, CMC evaluation and protein biochemistry related to the development of biological drugs.
• Be responsible to conduct high throughput experiments daily and support experienced scientists in planning and analyzing the generated data.
• Prepare and communicate data in technical reports and oral presentations.
• Deliver updates to team members and management in context of overall project goals.
• Maintain scientific excellence in area of protein purification, protein expression and biophysical characterization.
• Develop broad knowledge in field of expertise, including the ability to interpret current literature relevant to R&D projects.
• Participate as an NBEPC representative on multiple project teams and aid in defining and prioritizing departmental aspects of project issues and goals.
• Comply with all applicable regulations; Ensures that work performed in area of responsibility is conducted in a safe and compliant manner; Maintains proper records in accordance with SOPs and policies.
• We are looking for a person who has some experience with liquid handlers/Hamilton devices.

Skills Scientist II Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution with two-plus (2+) years of experience in Biochemistry or related scientific discipline or Master's Degree from an accredited institution in Biochemistry or related scientific discipline.

Scientist III Requirements:

• Master's Degree from an accredited institution with three-plus (3+) years of experience in Biochemistry or related scientific discipline, OR Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution with seven-plus (7+) years of experience in Biochemistry or related scientific discipline.

Requirements:

• Provide and apply expertise in protein purification techniques. Demonstrate additional scientific knowledge of projects and understand technology beyond protein purification.
• Demonstrate a broad knowledge in the field of biology and biochemistry (SDS-PAGE, Western blot analysis, HPLC, protein characterization, aggregation, glycosylation, generic protein analysis).

• Pharmaceutical industry experience is a plus.
