Senior Security Operations Manager, Americas

Title: Senior Security Operations Manager, Americas

The Sr. Security Operations Manager, Americas will support our efforts in securing our Data Centers throughout North and South America, as well as assist in our European operations at time. They have full responsibility of overseeing security personnel in adhering to EdgeConneX standards. This role is also responsible for the continuous operation of EdgeConneX security operationally and at a physical implementation level. This position can be customer facing and must uphold the ideals of EdgeConneX excellence. This position reports to the Vice President, Global Data Center Security and can be based in Herndon, VA or Denver, Colorado and will operate as a hybrid role, meaning 2-3 days in the office. There will also be as much as much as 35% travel throughout both North and South America required to support more than 30 data centers. As of now, this position is a Manager role only in title and will not have any internal direct reports, but will oversee as many as 200 contractors across the region.

Primary Responsibilities

• Oversight and auditing of security personnel in the field.
• Managing operational security on a tactical & strategical level.
• Procuring and auditing security vendors.
• Define, write, and support the rollout, implementation, and adherence to EdgeConneX operational security standards.
• Drive leadership-oriented insights and reviews communicating results, highlighting risks and opportunities, and providing recommendations impacting performance and results promptly.
• Work closely with our operations teams to implement a world-class data center experience, as it related to security, for customers.
• Oversight and working knowledge of Physical Security Systems, with specific knowledge of S2, Lenel, and Genetec systems.
• Ability to use computer systems related to security and reporting.
• Provide support for external audits relating to EdgeConneX security.
• Liaison to customer security teams.
• Travel up to 35% within North & South America
• Other duties as needed

• Strong communications, both written and verbal, in leading teams and coordinating with peers and other disciplines on driving projects/issues to closure.

• Working knowledge of jurisdictional security requirements

Experience/Education

• 5+ years of experience in successfully managing security programs in a corporate security, law enforcement, or government operations program role.
• 2+ years working in critical infrastructure facilities such as data center, nuclear, energy, or large, complex organizations with varied facilities
• Site security audit and project management experience, with the ability to run a project from end-to-end independently
• Track record of providing risk/threat assessments at the strategic and tactical level, demonstrating critical thinking and exceptional judgment in information analysis and problem-solving.
• Ability to apply security knowledge to third-party certifications such as PCI/DSS, SOC2, and ISO27000.
• Aptitude to learn new and complex systems.
• Extensive experience with reviewing and approving third-party contracts and statements of work related to physical security.
• Any candidate with experience working in a start-up type environment requiring extensive change are highly encouraged to apply
• A candidate possessing an industry security certification such as CPP is highly encouraged to apply
• Interest in cyber security

US Salary Range

$95,000-$105,000 USD
