Job Description:
The IT Services team at the Texas General Land Office is looking for a candidate to join the Infrastructure and Operations team in a Senior ServiceNow Administrator role. This role is being recruited as an informal contract-to-hire role.
The responsibilities of the position are as follows:
Performs advanced (senior-level) systems administration work in ServiceNow. Work involves coordinating the upkeep, configuration, and reliable operation of the platform. Installs and configures modules and other updates for the platform. Works under minimal supervision, with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.
Performs systems administration and provides support for servers, systems, and services as part of an enterprise IT operations team; coordinates and maintains the functionality of the systems environment, the implementation of technology solutions, the development of server upgrade plans and procedures, and the installation of operating systems and other software.
Oversees, performs, and provides guidance in troubleshooting and solving complex problems related to system software, services, incidents and problem calls, and in the processing of service requests and tasks.
Independently initiate, develop, and lead the implementation of best practices, standard operating procedures, and processes for IT service management. Define, implement, measure, and review metrics for IT services that result in continuous efficiency, quality, and systems management improvements.
Coordinates projects that cross functional agency systems, business units and other state entities. Handle numerous projects/priorities using proven project management methodologies and sound operations practices to ensure quality delivery of solutions.
Enter, manage, and provide oversight on IT support tickets within the IT service management system. Record problem symptoms, provide and document updates and resolution for incidents, service requests and support root cause analysis.
Coordinates and/or develops operating procedures for technical support, troubleshooting, maintenance, and innovative systems administration techniques.
Defines and manages the roles and access privileges of individual users and devices to a variety of applications to prevent unauthorized access.
We're looking for this candidate to support a project to deliver a new implementation of ServiceNow. While the ServiceNow platform will replace an existing IT service management platform from Ivanti, it is essentially a green field implementation as we're not looking to migrate or duplicate what was implemented previously.

Required Skills:
- 8 years of experience working in information technology operations, support, or a related field.
- 6 years of experience administering ServiceNow ITSM platform. Strong, up to date, working knowledge of ServiceNow modules and applications: Service Catalog(s), Change, Incident, Problem, Knowledge, User and Asset Management
