The Travel Partnerships and Media (TPM) team helps partners, including hotels, airlines, destination marketing organizations (DMOs) and more, deliver excellent traveler and B2B experiences. We drive growth for our partners and the Expedia Group marketplace through competitive supply, our leading advertising and travel media network and affiliate solutions.
The Senior Social Media Marketing Specialist role sits on the Expedia Cruises marketing team in the TPM division of Expedia Group. If you enjoy staying up to date on the latest social media trends and content and are looking to join a team at the forefront of Franchise and Travel retail marketing, consider Expedia Cruises - the leading travel agency selling air, land, & sea vacations in communities across North America.
As someone with a flair for social media strategy and content, you understand what it takes to manage a diverse social media presence from strategy to execution and measurement. The Social Media Marketing Specialist is accountable for the execution and optimization of our social media marketing strategy. You'll also play a key role in the training and support of our Franchisees and Vacation Consultants through the creation of training resources, webinars, and participation in office hours.

The total cash range for this position in Vancouver is $73,000.00 to $102,500.00. Employees in this role have the potential to increase their pay up to $117,000.00, which is the top of the range, based on ongoing, demonstrated, and sustained performance in the role.
Starting pay for this role will vary based on multiple factors, including location, available budget, and an individual's knowledge, skills, and experience. Pay ranges may be modified in the future.

In this role, you will:
- Drive and support Franchisee and Vacation Consultant success through best-in-class service and support of tools, processes, and implementation of strategic social media imperatives
- Oversee execution of paid ads to drive RSVPs for Franchisee in-store events to support our Core Promotions
- Lead initiatives and incentive programs that drive behavior to increase overall social media performance for our Core Promotion posts including Impressions, Reach, Engagement, RSVPs, and Leads
- Participate in the structure and content of service agreements with external agencies
- Oversee key performance metrics, identify when are out of normal range and propose actions to manage
- Oversee social media strategies that drive metrics in support of departmental goals
- Understand (internal and external) customers' needs, and develop the skills necessary to help customers understand business challenges
- Stay up to date with the latest social media best practices and technologies
- Set up and help administer Franchisee Facebook business pages
- Create training materials for our Social Media Tool "SocialHUB"
- Host training webinars for our Franchisees and Vacation Consultants on how to make the most of their social media presence
- Attend off-site training events and host social media workshops where necessary
Experience and qualifications:
- Bachelor's or equivalent degree required
- 3 years of relevant experience in a social media or digital marketing role
- Solid experience with multi-media content creation
- Knowledge of keywords and hashtags
- Understanding of targeted ad setups, budget management, analysis and optimization
- Proficient in using social media management and scheduling tools
- Hands-on experience working with enterprise-level social media tools, preferably PromoRepublic or Hootsuite
- Strong customer service skills and ability to resolve client issues and challenges
Bonus Points:
- E-commerce and travel (cruise) industry experience
- Video Editing Skills
- Basic design skills using tools like Adobe Creative Suite
- Proficiency in HTML
