Senior Software Engineer

The Swift Group is looking for a Senior Software Engineer with full stack development, cloud engineering/architecture, and containerization experience This position is onsite in McLean, VA.

Key Responsibilities:

• Evaluate, format, and maintain data from multiple sources.
• Develop and manage data processing workflows in the customer pipeline.
• Evaluate, extract, and process System and Event Logs.
• Develop and maintain processing pipelines and documentation.
• Identify, classify, and verify incoming dataset types.
• Identify and implement COTS and Open Source Data Enhancement capabilities.
• Code scripts and software modules to convert non-standard datasets.
• Standardize, store, extract, reference, and validate data.
• Develop and deploy processing pipelines to cloud analytics platforms.
• Develop requirements to support data analytics customers and integration partners.
• Develop software standards and practices documentation.
• Support Agile development.

Required Qualifications:

• 16+ years of relevant experience.
• Proven experience with setting up and maintaining Cloud-based DevOps functionality.
• Proficiency in Java, JavaScript, Python, or similar development languages and associated frameworks for applications development such as Flask, ReactJS, or similar.
• Background in working with data in, and developing applications with, SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Expertise in documenting system design and architecture.
• Strong coordination and collaboration skills with the ability to work successfully across organizational boundaries.
• Capability in performance tuning, monitoring, troubleshooting, and debugging applications and services.
• Experience developing, deploying, and maintaining containerized applications and database.
• BA/BS Degree or five years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
• US Citizenship and an active TS/SCI with Polygraph security clearance required

Desired Qualifications:

• Familiarity with the deployment of AWS and experience deploying applications.
• Background in working in an Agile software development cycle.
• Knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Experience with geospatial data, visualization, and relevant analytic methods and tools.
• Expertise in manipulating large datasets.
• Familiarity with open-source data engineering tools and processes.
• MA/MS Degree.
