About the Team

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Manager, Remote & Automation to lead and oversee the operations, development, and maintenance of our critical remote testing infrastructure. This role is crucial for ensuring the quality and timely delivery of our products by providing a robust and efficient testing environment. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background, excellent leadership skills, and a proven track record of managing complex technical projects and teams. This role will directly manage a team of engineers, developers, and QA personnel, ensuring seamless collaboration and efficient execution of projects.

What You Will Do

  • Lead and manage the Remote & Automation team , including Linux system developers, backend/frontend developers, QA automation engineers, support engineers, and QA team leads.
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the lab, ensuring its stability, availability, and performance.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans for the lab's evolution, aligning with the company's overall product roadmap.
  • Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources effectively.
  • Drive continuous improvement of the lab's infrastructure, tools, and processes.
  • Collaborate with product, engineering, and QA teams to understand testing needs and provide appropriate solutions.
  • Ensure the lab adheres to security best practices and compliance standards.
  • Mentor and coach team members, fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration.
  • Develop and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) to track the lab's performance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Manage vendor relationships related to lab hardware and software.
  • Troubleshoot complex technical issues and provide escalation support.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of lab infrastructure, processes, and procedures.
  • Oversee the onboarding and training of new team members and lab users.

About You

  • Experience working on consumer electronics platform devices (Smart TV, Set Top Box, Streaming devices); Gather test automation requirements, and deliver product to engineering customer.
  • Understand system architecture, identify test scope, create test strategy, roll out automated process to validate TV platform components and integration.
  • Extensive experience managing technical teams and projects, preferably in a testing or lab environment.
  • Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and QA methodologies.
  • Solid background in Linux system administration and networking.
  • Familiarity with scripting languages (Bash, Python) and automation frameworks.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and tools.
  • Knowledge of web development technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React).
  • Understanding of database systems and architecture.
  • Experience with cloud computing platforms (preferred).
  • Familiarity with test automation tools and frameworks (PyTest preferred).
  • Experience with remote access and control technologies.
  • Knowledge of hardware components and troubleshooting.

  • Operating Systems: Linux
  • Programming Languages: Python, Bash, JavaScript, TypeScript
  • Frameworks/Libraries: UI/UX/API framework (Django, FastAPI, React, UVUX preferred)
  • Databases: Knowledge of database architecture and server setup
  • Testing Frameworks: Python framework (PyTest preferred)
  • CI/CD: Experience with CI/CD pipelines and tools
  • Web Technologies: HTML, CSS, HTTP/S, SSL
  • Other: Git, GitHub

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience with consumer device testing.
  • Experience with video/audio streaming technologies.
  • Experience in a fast-paced, agile development environment.
