About the Role:

As a Senior Solutions Architect at Phaedon you will play a key role in bringing our technical vision to life. You will be the lead Architect supporting both our software products and leading major initiatives. Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Partner with the Phaedon technology, project management and account teams and be responsible for driving innovative technology offerings for new and existing clients
  • Work with Phaedon's internal and external client teams to define and architect technology solutions
  • Document and review solutions with team members and stakeholders and oversee end-to-end implementation of solutions to ensure quality and adherence to designs
  • Develop and implement technology solutions with appropriate software design methodology to enable multiple team members to work in parallel, or to enable handoff of project deliverables
  • Conduct code reviews, code merging and participation in deployments to ensure flawless execution on projects
  • Lead and mentor a team of software developers
  • Conduct regular status meetings, and participate in formal employee reviews with team members
  • Assist in maintaining Phaedon's system availability, processing integrity, and confidentiality policies
  • Lead product implementations.
  • Stay up to date on skills, work on expanding to others.
  • Bring new ideas, tools, services, and techniques to the group.
  • Use analytical thinking to make decisions based on facts and metrics whenever possible.
  • Develop and follow our architecture standards.
  • Demonstrate a desire to learn and accept new challenges within and outside of your core skills.

Location:

This role is based out of our office in the Designer's Guild building in the heart of Minneapolis' North Loop neighborhood. We embrace a hybrid model with three in-office days per week to ensure a mix of collaboration and flexibility to support our employees' success.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, management information systems or equivalent.
  • 8 or more years of recent technology experience.
  • Design solutions in their entirety and lead development efforts.
  • Create development, architecture, hosting, networking, and other plans for the project.
  • Create architecture documentation using the 4+1 view of architecture.
  • Experience with Linux and Windows systems architecture and maintenance.
  • Experience with load balancing, distributed computing, and AWS cloud architecture.
  • Experience with database servers, mail servers, web servers, application servers.
  • Experience with common application servers and runtimes:
    • Java/J2EE
    • Architecting solutions for distributed applications
    • Using unit testing frameworks / test driven development
    • Working knowledge of SQL Server databases
    • Developing industry standard persistence mechanisms like EJBs, JDBC, N/Hibernate, etc.
    • Integration/Interpreted: Node, Java
    • Back End: Java Enterprise
    • Frameworks: Spring, Hibernate, SpringBatch
    • Database: Microsoft SQL Server, AWS Database technologies
    • Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery Patterns
    • Cloud Architectures - Amazon Web Services & Azure (AWS preferred)
  • Some experience with XHTML (and HTML5), CSS, JavaScript.
  • Expected to own medium/large efforts.
  • Expected to mentor and manage teams on said efforts.
  • Expected to lead 1 large project OR numerous medium/small projects.

Pay Range:

The pay range for this position is estimated to be: $125,000 - $181,500 per year.

There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location, education and certifications as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position.
