In Office - Located in the Downtown Yonkers. Steps away from the Waterfront, Metro North, and Getty Square.
The Senior Staff Accountant will play a vital role in managing our general accounting functions, including account analysis, general ledger maintenance, cash reconciliations, budget analysis, and unit of service reconciliations. This position also serves as a backup for billing operations. Non-Profit experience preferred.

The Senior Staff Accountant will play a vital role in managing our general accounting functions, including account analysis, general ledger maintenance, cash reconciliations, budget analysis, and unit of service reconciliations. Responsibilities:
- Prepare and maintain financial and business transactions, applying accounting principles.
- Perform general ledger reconciliation and analysis.
- Review all agency disbursements to ensure accurate account coding.
- Research account budget variances.
- Backup billing operations as needed.
- Prepare general journal entries for review.
- Ensure adherence to standard accounting procedures and maintain accounting files.
- Collaborate with Fundraising operations to record activities properly.
- Assist in annual audits and prepare audit schedules.
- Track trends through general account analysis on a monthly basis.
- Prepare schedules related to the State CFR report.
- Participate in budget development and management.
- Assist regulators and company auditors with inquiries.
- Maintain knowledge of relevant state and federal regulations.
- Work collaboratively with internal and external departments to ensure quality services and appropriate reimbursement.
- Complete other tasks as requested.
Qualifications:
- Non-Profit experience preferred.
- BS degree in Accounting / Non-Profit Business Management
- 1 to 3 years of progressive accounting experience
- Experience with systems related to Department of Human Services & NYS OPWDD;
- Working knowledge of FundEZ, and Microsoft Office or other comparable software.
- Ability to Travel between locations if requested
