Senior Staff Accountant
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Staff Accountant with a strong background in cost accounting within a manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will have over 10 years of accounting experience, a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, and at least 5 years of manufacturing processes and cost structures. An MBA and/or CMA certification is preferred. This role will involve overseeing the cost accounting process, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and providing actionable insights to improve operational efficiency and profitability.

Senior Staff Accountant
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Staff Accountant with a strong background in cost accounting within a manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will have over 10 years of accounting experience, a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, and at least 5 years of manufacturing processes and cost structures. This role will involve overseeing the cost accounting process, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and providing actionable insights to improve operational efficiency and profitability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Cost Accounting Management: Oversee and manage all aspects of cost accounting in a manufacturing environment, including cost allocation, inventory valuation, and variance analysis.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring compliance with GAAP and internal reporting requirements.
- Budgeting & Forecasting: Collaborate with operations, production, and management teams to prepare accurate cost forecasts, budgets, and financial projections.
- General Ledger: Collaborate with accounts payable and accounts receivable departments, perform balance sheet and bank account reconciliations, key journal entries, and assist in month-end close process.
- Inventory Management: Monitor and analyze inventory movements, perform inventory audits, and maintain accurate inventory valuation.
- Variance Analysis: Perform detailed analysis of cost variances and provide insights to improve profitability, reduce waste, and optimize manufacturing processes.
- Internal Controls: Ensure the proper implementation of internal controls over financial reporting, cost management, and operational processes.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and improve the efficiency of cost tracking and reporting.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with production, supply chain, and procurement teams to understand cost drivers and provide financial support for decision-making.
- Compliance & Auditing: Assist with external audits and ensure adherence to local, state, and federal regulations and guidelines.
Experience & Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required
- MBA and/or CMA (Certified Management Accountant) preferred
- 10+ years of accounting experience, with at least 5 years in a manufacturing and cost accounting role
- Proven track record of managing cost accounting processes in a manufacturing setting
Skills:
- Strong understanding of cost accounting principles, GAAP, and financial reporting.
- Proficiency in ERP systems (such as SAP, Oracle, etc.) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to meet deadlines.
- Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Preferred Skills & Experience:
- Experience working in large-scale manufacturing environments.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies.
- Familiarity with regulatory compliance in a manufacturing setting.
