POSITION SUMMARY:
The Senior Staff Accountant maintains the daily and monthly transactions and records necessary for the company's accounting department as it relates to accounts payable, payroll, and the financial process.
JOB SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Assists Controller with development, analysis, and interpretation of statistical and accounting information in order to appraise operating results in terms of profitability and other matters bearing on the fiscal soundness and operating effectiveness of the organization
2. Adheres to financial control for the organization
3. Maintains the company's system of accounts and keeps books and records on all company transactions and assets
4. Furnishes internal reports and revises/updates reports to be more useful and efficient.
5. Furnishes external reports as necessary
6. Determines allocations of companywide expenses
7. Provides support to facility Administrators and team members
8. Performs necessary steps to close facility at month end
9. Prepares analysis of financial information for financial close and meets with all facility Administrator's/CEO's on a monthly basis
10. Performs General Ledger (GL), Fixed Asset and Accounts Payable (AP) account maintenance
11. Performs internal audits to ensure integrity of processes and data
12. Maintains cash reconciliation and prepares weekly and monthly cash reports
13. Maintains and analyzes balance sheets and moves to expense when appropriate
14. Gathers, analyzes, and provides data on bank and financial audits based on financial documentation
15. Ensures accuracy and completeness of all transactions into GL
16. Establishes and maintains banking relationship with JP Morgan Chase, NHP, and CIT
17. Determines and wires funds as needed for company's cash requirements
18. Provides support to Payroll and HR regarding ADP and any payroll concerns
19. Properly maintains company cash records and provides information and status of balances
20. Assists Controller and finance team in preparing and delivering annual budgets to facilities and management
21. Performs other duties as assigned
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION:
Minimum of a bachelor's degree in accounting or related field or comparable work experience
EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of five (5) years' experience with increasing responsibility in accounting functions, preferably in healthcare finance
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION:
CPA preferred
Must pass criminal background check on an annual basis
