Description:
HumanN is growing, and we are looking for an experienced Senior Staff Accountant join our team! This role focuses on cost and inventory accounting, involving margin analysis
Responsibilities
Prepare and post journal entries to the general ledger.
Reconcile bank accounts, credit card statements, and other accounts regularly.
Maintain and update fixed asset schedules and related depreciation.
Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes, including accruals and adjustments.
Prepare and analyze financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
Support internal and external audit processes by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable as needed.
Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting principles, and regulatory requirements.
Skills & Knowledge
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
Proactive problem-solving ability and a team-oriented mindset.
Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including experience with pivot tables, v-lookups, and formulas.

Responsibilities

Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting principles, and regulatory requirements.
- Work closely with internal operations and finance teams to understand and optimize processes
- Develop a deep understanding of margin accounts. Use this knowledge to continuously improve and refine forecasts for Other Product Costs
- Inventory reserve adjustments and analysis including reserve for obsolete inventory, returns, and repairs
- Ad hoc reporting and projects as required
Skills & Knowledge
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
Proactive problem-solving ability and a team-oriented mindset.
Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including experience with pivot tables, v-lookups, and formulas.
- Working knowledge of product costing, inventory management, variance analysis
- Experience with Average Cost Inventory Methodology
- Experience with large enterprise ERP and related tools for reporting and analysis.
- Comfortable with team-based work structure; ability to remain flexible to change within the work environment and scope of responsibility.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Experience:
- 5+ years of accounting experience, focused on cost and inventory accounting (preferably in an omnichannel environment)
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with NetSuite.
- Prior experience in the consumer packaged goods (CPG) industry is preferred.
