IV. Position Summary
The Senior Staff Electrical Engineer is a mission critical position responsible for design and development of all electronic systems on our high-performance aerial systems, ground station, and test fixtures. Their collaborative approach reinforces team cohesion, fostering a supportive work environment that drives collective and individual growth.

The Senior Staff Electrical Engineer will materially contribute to the development of current and future electronics for Hoverfly products, including managing all phases of PCB design from idea to layout to test. These complex designs will be reliable, robust, and capable of operating in the harsh environments our clients operate.

Beyond strong technical knowledge, our Senior Staff Electrical Engineer adds substantial hands-on, problem-solving experience to the team blending analytical skills with practical real-world experience to address and mitigate complex electronic and operational issues. They know how to deep-dive into a problem, slicing and dicing to find the root cause of an issue and create solutions.

VI. Key Accountabilities
1) Development and Design
Materially contribute to the development of high-power and control electronics for aerial systems from initial concept through production
Manage all aspects of PCB design, including schematic capture, layout and testing
Employ advanced PCB layout techniques
Utilize ECAD and simulation tools (Altium, LTSpice) for design and development tasks
Conduct electronics packaging with 3D modeling/CAD experience

2) Analysis and Mitigation
Conduct comprehensive electronics failure analysis and propose and implement mitigation strategies
Apply RF Systems/MIL-STD-461 and associated RF noise mitigation experience
Develop and improve comprehensive documentation related to electronics, from design to manufacturing to testing

3) Collaboration and Contribution
Interface with technicians to provide electronic assembly and test assistance
Make significant contributions to the product roadmap, including proposing new features or products
Collaborate with contract manufacturers to ensure timely manufacturing and delivery of electronic subassemblies
Leverage experience in unmanned systems and/or hobbyist RC in product enhancement and troubleshooting
Use real world experience to suggest and implement process improvement and staff growth initiatives
Display strong initiative and drive to accomplish goals and meet company objectives
VII. Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (or comparable)
7+ years' electronics and/or PCB design experience
Proficient in all phases of PCB design including schematic capture, layout, and testing
Self-starter with strong interpersonal, communications, and organizational skills
Preferred: Experience integrating Computer on Module (CoM) and/or System on Modules (SoM)
Preferred: Familiarity with Altium, Mentor Graphics, PADS, Xpedition, Autodesk Eagle, or Mentor Graphics HyperLynx (or similar)

VIII. Other
Experience with drones and/or autonomous systems
Ability to sit or stand for long periods and to lift 55 lbs
US Citizen or Permanent Resident legally able to work in the US
Willingness to travel as needed for demos, customer meetings, and relevant industry events
