The Senior Staff Engineer position is responsible for business development and resource and quality management for a segment of our business. Experience & Education:
- 6 years' experience required
- Relevant engineering degree required; advanced degree preferred
- Proven ability to manage quality, time, team and budget on large and small projects and on discrete scopes of work
- Proven ability to promote client relationships
- Proven ability to manage a specialist team project
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to present at industry seminars/conferences/meetings
- Ability to travel offshore and internationally
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Recruit and retain new hires
- Follow-up billing issues with clients
- Review proposal prior to issue
- Develop internal training courses and materials
- Oversee project QA/QC
- Promote personal and technical development of staff
- Company marketing and sales
- Obtain feedback from clients
- Identify and develop business opportunities
- On the job training for junior staff
- Develop proposals
- Issue weekly updated (as required)
- Develop engineering manuals
- Ensure client satisfaction through effective project delivery and QA/QC
- Ensure correct project/deliverable documentation
- Responsible for adhering to GATE policies and procedures in a positive manner
- Proactively work to create positive and professional culture within GATE
- Present at monthly meetings and lunch and learn sessions
- Increase team capabilities and revenues
- Allocate work to direct reports
- Mentor direct reports
- Maintain retention targets for direct reports and their reports
- Maintain profitability of direct reports
- Ensure compliance of direct reports with GATE standard operating procedures
- Identify future team staffing and requirements
- Other duties as required
