Job Responsibilities
- Apply sound engineering principles and experience to create innovative high-speed flight structures from customer requirements.
- Utilize knowledge of high-temperature composite and metallic material behavior to ensure designs are manufacturable and scalable.
- Conduct thermal/structural analysis and coordinate verification testing from coupon to prototype levels in representative environments.
- Lead and provide feedback during the development of new modeling and simulation tools.
- Capture, document, and train best practices for designing with advanced composites.
- Contribute to the development of novel material systems through requirements derivation and performance simulations.
- Prepare technical reports to share knowledge with the team.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement and safe work habits.
- Degree in Science or Engineering with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience.
- Demonstrated knowledge in one or more: structural design, thermal/structural analysis, hypersonic flight environments, high-temperature materials, structural testing, or high-speed environmental testing.
- CAE experience, including 3D modeling (Catia V5, SolidWorks, NX) and Finite Element Analysis (HyperSizer, ABAQUS, NASTRAN).
- Knowledge of GD&T best practices.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks to meet company goals.
- Basic program planning and management skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to obtain a security clearance.
