Senior Structural Engineer / Design Project Manager

Summary:

We are seeking a seasoned Senior Structural Engineer / Design Project Manager to lead our Structural Engineering team in Jacksonville, FL. This is a key leadership role that involves managing all phases of structural design and development, with a focus on industrial and Department of Defense (DoD) projects. You will oversee engineering activities, perform structural analyses, guide design documentation, and support project delivery through active site inspections and team leadership.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead all aspects of structural engineering design from concept to completion
• Manage and review structural calculations, design reports, and plans for industrial construction projects
• Perform structural analysis to validate design integrity and compliance with applicable codes and safety standards
• Oversee and coordinate engineering activities to align with schedules, budgets, and company standards
• Conduct jobsite inspections to ensure design compliance and resolve issues as needed
• Collaborate with internal teams, clients, and stakeholders to solve complex design and construction challenges
• Supervise and mentor engineering staff, establishing clear roles, responsibilities, and workflows
• Maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, and design partners to ensure project success
• Ensure projects align with the organization's mission and performance goals
• Travel to project sites as needed for inspections and client meetings

Qualifications

Experience:

• Minimum 15 years of structural engineering experience in design and project delivery
• Prior project management experience in Department of Defense (DoD) environments preferred
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, RISA, Revit, Microsoft Word, and Excel

Education:

• Master's degree in Structural Engineering or related field (required)

Licensing:

• Active Professional Engineer (P.E.) license (required)

Skills:

• Ability to lead complex structural engineering projects across multiple phases
• Strong understanding of DoD design standards and regulatory frameworks
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational capabilities
• Willingness to travel to job sites as needed
