Job Description

We are currently seeking a Structural Engineer to manage and perform the design process for various projects, including design, analysis, construction documentation, and construction phase administration. The role involves overseeing junior engineering staff and CAD design team members, while ensuring high-quality and timely project delivery in alignment with clients' goals.
Responsibilities
  • End-to-end design of projects for new construction and renovations for commercial, retail, institutional, and industrial projects.
  • Provide construction phase services, including responses to RFIs, submittal reviews, and field observations at project sites.
  • Design and analyze using various materials including steel, stainless steel, aluminum, concrete, precast concrete, masonry, and timber.
  • Perform structural engineering analyses, designs, and calculations.
  • Ensure engineering designs meet applicable company, local, state, and national codes and standards.
  • Conduct assessments and evaluations of existing structures and prepare reports.
  • Prepare project budgets.
  • Develop standard tools and processes to streamline engineering efforts.
  • Support technical requests from current and new clients.
  • Supervise all technical and CAD staff assigned to projects.
  • Check and coordinate construction documents with design and constraints.
  • Provide clear and thorough documentation of calculations and construction documents.
  • Attend project coordination calls and meetings with clients and jurisdictional agencies.
  • Develop strong relationships and become a trusted partner with clients.
  • Address project problems/issues in a timely manner.
  • Serve as a technical advisor providing knowledge and expertise.
Essential Skills
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering (Structural Focus) or Structural Engineering. A Master's degree is preferred.
  • 8-10 years minimum experience in structural building engineering.
  • Professional Engineering (PE) License.
  • Proficiency in structural engineering principles and practices.
  • Ability to provide guidance and leadership to junior staff or project team members.
  • Ability to lead a project team as well as collaborate with others.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, RAM, and Enercalc.
  • Skills in drafting, design, and load calculations.
  • Experience in construction administration and structural design.
Work Environment

Our firm is located in downtown Lansdale, just a 5-minute walk from the Lansdale Train Station. The team consists of 9 employees, including 5 licensed engineers, 2 senior engineers, and 2 designer/drafters. The work environment is laid-back, with a smaller team in one building. The dress code is business professional, and standard working hours are from 8 AM to 5 PM. We offer a collaborative environment where employees can grow and develop their skills.
Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $110000.00/yr.
