Duties & Responsibilities
- Manage and lead project teams to successfully deliver project deliverables
- Coordinate and oversee the production of construction documents, specifications, and other engineering documents
- Plan, organize, prioritize, and monitor the scope, budget, schedule, resources, and status of assigned projects
- Conduct internal QA/QC reviews of work completed by the department
- Review and seal projects as Engineer of Record
- Collaborate in a team setting with other departments and teams to support team and project success
- Lead and oversee a project from the conceptual stage to completed construction with a strong understanding of other engineering discipline's scopes
- Mentor and coach staff to support their growth and professional development
- Manage and provide performance guidance and leadership to direct reports
- Participate in and facilitate department initiatives and improvement plans and activities
Qualifications
- Education/Licensure
- B.S. Civil Engineering w/ Structural focus OR B.S. Architectural Engineering
- Professional Engineering (P.E.) License in Texas
- Experience
- 10+ years of experience as a Structural Engineer
- 3+ years of experience in a management role
- 3+ years of experience with Engineer of Record responsibility
- Experience in the design and detailing of various construction materials, including steel, cold formed metal framing, conventional and post-tensioned concrete, concrete masonry, and conventional and engineered wood
- Experience in the design and analysis of building structures
- Experience in residential, commercial, high education (institutional), and vertical public infrastructure projects
- Experience in the development of comprehensive construction documents
- Experience in the use of various industry standards such as: IBC, IRC, ASCE 7, ACI, PCI, AISC, NDS, and TMS
- Bluebeam, Autodesk REVIT, RISA, or RAM Structural System experience is a plus
- Skills
