POSITION OVERVIEW

We are seeking a Senior System Administrator to join our dynamic infrastructure team at a growing company. This role is pivotal in leading the development of internal RMM system, security procedures, documentation, and enabling the helpdesk. As a key technical expert, you will handle advanced system administrative functions, Tier 3 escalations, provide advanced troubleshooting, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance our IT systems. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Drive RMM + Intune development to manage fleet of workstations, including OS and software patching to ensure we meet patching goals.
  • High end Administration workstations, servers, and cloud infrastructure.
  • Lead administer enterprise-level applications and services (e.g. Entra AD, O365, DNS) and other SaaS applications to drive standards to be leveraged by support tiers.
  • Participate in the development, of availability and disaster recovery readiness. Including auditing systems, backups, specific recovery processes, working to develop and test runbooks per service.
  • Continuous development of security processes and documentation as needed to support new security policies for a growing organization implementing NIST CSF 2.0 security platform.
  • Draw upon experience to drive systems to a high level of configuration ensuring consistency and usability for Jr admins to manage and elevating end user experience.
  • Help oversee managed network infrastructure, including firewalls, switches, and Wi-Fi.
  • Assist with enforcing and updating security policies and compliance frameworks by utilizing automations to report and assist remediation.
  • Develop processes to monitor system health, performance, and capacity across servers, desktops, and cloud services using automations and RMM tools.
  • Serve as an escalation point for complex issues beyond the capabilities of junior admins. Providing advanced troubleshooting for software, hardware, and network problems.
  • Participate in a limited emergency on call rotation.
  • Participate in IT infrastructure projects, developing and implementing project plans (e.g., migrations, cloud adoption, hardware and software upgrades).
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to align projects with business needs.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members.


EDUCATION AND/OR WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Team player with positive attitude and sense of urgency.
  • Through documentation skills
  • Be able to work independently and stay on task.
  • 3-5 years in a Sr Sys Admin role.
  • Network fundamentals, subnetting, basic network services, DNS, DHCP.
  • Deeper knowledge of M365 including Security, O365, Intune, MFA, Defender, Teams Voice, SSO, SIEM support, Security practices.
  • Customer service and Communication skills
  • RMM - Automation/scripting, Patching, software deployment
  • Experience with Azure joined workforce heavily leveraging SaaS applications
  • Expert level problem solving skills
  • Network fundamentals, DNS, DHCP, IP Subnetting, VLANS, VPN tunnels, client, hardware
  • Backup systems and practices
  • Working with MSP to continuously drive alignment on policies and SLA
  • General VOIP Administration
  • Ability to scope, and execute smaller projects
  • Shape and develop IT systems for other team members to use
  • Develop documentation for IT support and security related practices.
  • Limited travel to remote offices


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Safely and successfully performs the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state, and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
  • Maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state, and local standards.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 20 lbs.
  • Must be able to sit for prolonged period of time in office environment, desk setting
  • Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly on telephone.
