We are seeking an experienced, successful, and engaged Senior Systems Administrator to join our team. This position is expected to work out of our office at 610 E. Gish Rd. San Jose, CA and limited job-related travel may be required.
Position Summary:
The Senior Systems Administrator participates in the design, implementation, security, and operation of our technology infrastructure including a Microsoft technology stack located largely in the cloud, cloud-based telephony, and related network devices, servers, applications and services across all GreenWaste locations. You will be expected to independently solve operational problems and help improve, streamline, and secure systems and data. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a forward-thinking mindset as well as an eagerness to learn new skills and technologies. The candidate must be highly technical and able to craft novel solutions to technology challenges.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Design, implement and manage on premise and Azure based Microsoft technologies including Windows Server, SQL Server, SharePoint, Exchange, Active Directory/Azure AD, Office 365, and related services and infrastructure
- Design, implement, and manage all related 3rd party applications, services, and infrastructure including MFA, backup, systems management, anti-virus/malware, firewalls, and others
- Design, implement, and manage the enterprise LAN, WAN and voice networks, including cloud service providers, and other parties as necessary
- Help ensure the security of the technology infrastructure by implementing industry best practices regarding privacy, security, and regulatory compliance
- Provide documentation and technical specifications to IT staff for planning and implementing new or upgrades of IT infrastructure
- Own projects, solutions, and key responsibilities within larger business initiatives
- Interact with the service desk and other teams to assist in troubleshooting, identify root cause, and provide escalation support when needed
- Be an escalation point for after-hours support
- Perform other jobs and duties as needed
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- High degree of customer service focus and strong communication skills
- Strong analytical skills
- Ability to present technical information in understandable form to non-technical recipients
- Significant technical experience in a Windows server on-prem and Azure environment
- Significant technical experience in a moderately complex enterprise IP network utilizing SDWAN technologies
- Ability to investigate and resolve technical problems of significant complexity
- Experience in an ITSM environment a plus
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- 7+ years systems administration experience within a Windows environment
- 4+ years enterprise IP networking experience
- At least one of the following industry certifications is preferred:
- MCSE Windows Server
- CCNA or above
- CompTIA Network+
- Valid Driver's license, Class C
Language Skill:
- Proficiency in English
Physical Demands:
- Ability to sit or stand in front of a computer for work shift.
- Ability to lift and carry at least 40lbs
- Ability to climb a ladder or similar device
