Job Title: Senior Systems Administrator

Responsibilities of the Senior System Administrator:
McLane Advanced Technologies is seeking a Senior Systems Administrator to support the Department of Energy (DOE) in Albuquerque, NM. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining effective communication with customers via email and phone, addressing service outages, and assisting with support requests. Additionally, you will be involved in updating and documenting service tickets, as well as tracking the resolution of problems. As a Senior Systems Administrator, you will also play a vital role in supporting enterprise cybersecurity operations and call center teams by monitoring network hardware and applications and implementing engineering tasks to address issues.

The Senior Systems Administrator will:

• Collaborate with operations and call center teams, as well as all stakeholders, to follow up on technical issues and ensure their resolution.
• Provide support for software and hardware issues, ensuring the stability and optimal performance of systems.
• Execute systems administration tasks, including system performance tuning on workstations, applications, and network infrastructure, primarily focused on Microsoft Windows operating systems services.
• Adhere to industry best practices, standards, and procedures.
• Work in conjunction with other team members to integrate Linux/Unix services with Microsoft Windows systems.
• Support system/server infrastructure maintenance and monitoring activities, including patching, system upgrades, backups, and configuration.
• Participate in the problem management process, conducting root cause analysis to identify the underlying causes of incidents and prevent future occurrences.
• Assist with forensic analysis, triage, and resolution of system/server-related trouble tickets.
• Perform account management tasks, such as user account creation and deletion.
• Engage in certification and professional development training to stay up-to-date with technologies, enhance skill sets, and improve efficiency.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related engineering discipline. A Bachelor's Degree can be substituted with 4 years of work experience in a computer and information technology-related field.
• Minimum of 4+ years of experience supporting Windows servers in a hybrid enterprise environment.
• Experience and familiarity with software and system lifecycle methodologies, such as ISO, CMMI, ITIL, Agile, and SAFe.
• Extensive experience working with Windows servers in production environments (both physical and virtualized).
• Familiarity with Arista network devices.
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash, Python, Perl, or PowerShell.
• Previous experience in a hybrid environment is preferred.
• Working knowledge of system hardening practices.
• Experience with STIG, ST&E, and vulnerability management.
• Active DOE or DOD Security Clearance.
