The pay range above represents the minimum and maximum rate for this position in California. Factors that may be used to determine where newly hired employees will be placed in the pay range include the employee specific skills and qualifications, relevant years of experience and comparison to other employees already in this role. Most often, a newly hired employee will be placed below the midpoint of the range. Salary range will vary for remote positions outside of California and future increases will be based on the pay band for the city and state you reside in.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Senior Systems Administrator, reporting to the Director, IT Infrastructure and Security Operations is responsible for the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of Gold Coast Health Plans technology infrastructure.

As a member of the Infrastructure and Operations team, you will support various environments and should have broad knowledge and varied experience in VMWare and Azure virtualization, network administration, virtual networking, automation, patch management etc.

Must be able to work in a hybrid environment (home/office) and available for on call or weekend work - as necessary.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Job Function & Responsibilities
Build and support Azure services including Storage, Virtual Servers/Desktops, Networking, Data Factory, Synapse, Databricks and setup integrations in a secure manner.
Working with the Information Security Team on various functions, such as; Network Management, Firewalls, VPN, Wi-Fi, Internet Proxy/Filtering, Data Loss Prevention, and various security protocols to ensure data and network security measures are always implemented from the start of any configurations and maintained throughout its lifecycle.
Configure replication from Azure SQL environment and partner organizations.
Build and configure integrations with various Partner organizations using Azure Virtual Network Gateways.
Assist in the build/import, organization, and deployment of policies in Azure Intune , Microsoft Endpoint Manager, and Active Directory - or by use of scripting.
Manage and maintain Solarwinds products.
Build, configure, and deploy state-of-the-art digital backup solutions to ensure GCHP is recovery capable and flexible in alternate environments during a disaster.
Setup Azure SFTP to provide more security and functionality for data exchange throughout GCHP's environment as well as Partner collaboration.
Build and configure on prem server environments such as VMware or Hyper-V.
Review Azure resources for cost savings.
Manage and configure inter-connected network integrations throughout GCHP's on-premises and cloud platforms to ensure all operations and data movement is available and has 99+% uptime.
Identifies specific areas for improvement through data gathering and analytical review of data.
Serves as an escalation point for the IT Service Desk Support teams. Provides additional coverage as needed to ensure support teams are meeting metrics.
Defines and acquires applicable tools for automating support of the Windows desktop and Server environments.
Identifies specific problems, determines product requirements, and builds solutions to make needed improvements.
Assist users in troubleshooting and resolving problems with hardware, software, office and communications equipment, network and remote connectivity.
Provide technical support to special projects coordinating across several departments and must manage several projects at a time.
Document and manage the changes through a standard Change Management workflow to establish any changes to the risk/compliance posture of the system and present for approval to the appropriate Change Management Board.
Assists with rolling-out approved solutions that will allow end users to work more effectively and efficiently through automated and targeted deployments.
Provides support for projects, rollouts, and any testing needed. Coordinates efforts support departments to ensure solutions are fully tested and full site/company roll-out is completed.
Researches and supports enterprise desktop solutions using industry standard tools such as Intune, Microsoft SCCM or other applicable products.
Coordinates efforts with other IT teams, including Enterprise Applications, Security, Database, and M365, to ensure we have a consistent approach and plan for support across the organization.
Use various applications and tools to run reports, create automation, audits, and searching for events to determine problems or housekeeping items.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education & Experience:
5+ years of experience in Microsoft Azure and M365 environments that include SaaS, PaaS, and MS office applications (Teams, SharePoint, PowerApps, PowerBI, Exchange).
5+ years of experience in a corporate environment that supports a hybrid infrastructure (cloud/on-premises).
7+ years of experience working with Windows desktop and server operating systems.
2+ years of experience in Cisco network solutions.
2+ years of experience in SQL management solutions.
3+ years of experience using modern authentication mechanisms (MFA, JIT, SAML/SSO)

Equivalent In lieu of degree:

Will accept experience in any combination of academic education, professional training, or work experience, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

Preferred Qualifications:
Must be able to proactively perform analysis on all types of problems and issues, professionally suggest solutions, and implement as quickly and efficiently as possible to the satisfaction of the internal customer.
Proven track record in documentation and various reporting and organizational skills.
Advanced experience in asset management and user-issuing of hardware/software.
Understanding of host-based protection software's (malware, firewalls, IPS, and various other modern endpoint protection tools.
Thorough understanding on use of SIEM and various systems monitoring technology (SW Orion, Netwrix, Splunk, etc.).
Thorough understanding of Active Directory; including replication, GPO, and DNS.
General understanding of TCP/IP networking and troubleshooting for LAN and WAN.
Proficient knowledge of PowerShell scripting and automation.
Able to work effectively under deadlines in a fast-paced, changing environment.
Exceptional organizational skills and attention to details.
Strong analytical, trouble-shooting and problem-solving skills.

Technology & Software Skills: Advanced computer skills in MS Office products.

Certifications & Licenses: A valid and current Driver's License, Auto Insurance, and professional licensure(s)
