As a Systems Engineer, you will collaborate closely with developers, IT personnel, and vendors to optimize our systems and provide top-tier support. - System Implementation: Implement new systems software and modifications without adverse effects on current production or testing.
- Monitoring & Management: Assist with management and monitoring of installed systems and infrastructure.
- System Availability: Proactively ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability.
- Performance Optimization: Monitor and test application performance for potential bottlenecks, identify possible solutions, and work with developers to implement fixes.
- Security & Redundancy: Maintain security, backup, and redundancy strategies.
- Technical Documentation: Prepare materials for Systems Analysts, Programmers, and Operations personnel that describe effects and new requirements resulting from changes to system software.
- Technical Support: Provide 2nd and 3rd level support.
- Vendor & IT Collaboration: Liaise with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution.
- Development Support: Provide technical guidance and support to application development staff.
- Compliance & Standards: Define and enforce appropriate technical standards and procedures.
- Other Duties: Perform other duties as assigned.
What Will You Need
- Experience: At least 4 years of relevant experience in system administration or system engineering.
- Language Proficiency: English proficiency in both written and verbal communication.
Preferred Skills & Attributes
- Education: Master's degree in a related field.
- Experience: 7 to 10 years of relevant experience.
- Infrastructure & System Administration: Strong understanding of IT infrastructure and system administration.
- Virtual Environments: Proficiency in virtual environments (VMware, Hyper-V) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Cloud Platforms: Experience with AWS, Azure, GCP.
- Configuration Management & CI/CD: Experience with Ansible, Puppet, Chef, and CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI).
- Scripting & Automation: Proficiency in Python, Bash, PowerShell.
- Database & Networking: Comprehensive knowledge of network protocols, database management (SQL, NoSQL), and ITIL best practices.
