ADM is seeking a highly experienced Systems Engineer IV (Senior Systems Engineer SME) to join our team in Alexandria, VA. Responsibilities
Serve as the expert for the design, engineering, installation, configuration, and administration of Windows Servers, VMware infrastructures, Microsoft Active Directory, and Public Key Infrastructure (PKI)/Certificate Management.
Provide technical leadership and strategic oversight of all systems infrastructure, ensuring high availability, security, and scalability.
Design, implement, install, maintain, and administer infrastructure systems including hardware, software, virtualization, and network configurations.
Monitor and analyze system performance and reliability; identify potential issues and implement proactive tuning and corrective measures.
Serve as a senior subject matter expert (SME) on systems integration, performance optimization, and problem resolution.
Lead root cause analysis on failed components and systems, driving long-term solutions.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance systems, improve efficiency, and develop scalable enterprise solutions.
Provide Tier III/SME-level support, advice, and troubleshooting for critical utility network operations with a 99.999% uptime target.
Manage and support infrastructure technologies such as Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, WSUS, SCCM, and WhatsUpGold.
Support VMware ESX/VSphere Virtualization Technologies in architecture design, administration, and implementation.
Maintain and support enterprise Storage Area Networks (SAN).
Implement systems based on evolving network application and mission requirements.
Develop and maintain accurate architectural diagrams, technical schematics, and documentation to support all infrastructure assets.
Administer and support security tools, including McAfee's Host-Based Security System (HBSS), ensuring up-to-date virus definitions, patches, and STIG compliance.
Utilize DoD Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS) to manage and enforce information security compliance.
Provide expertise and documentation for Risk Management Framework (RMF) and DIARMF processes.
Lead the development of standard operating procedures (SOPs) and documentation for all system operations.
Provide mentorship and guidance to junior engineers and team members.
Proactively identify and resolve complex technical issues and provide escalation support.
Perform preventative maintenance and collaborate with others to continually refine operations and configurations.
Manage and automate tasks using scripting for configuration, patching, and deployment activities.
Qualifications
Active DoD Top Secret Clearance is required for consideration.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field; or 15+ years of progressive experience in systems engineering in lieu of a degree.
Demonstrated 10+ years of experience in Systems Engineering with increasing responsibility and complexity.
DoD 8140 IAT Level II Certification required (e.g., Security+ CE, CCNA Security, etc.).
Experience with VMWare Certified Professional (VCP) or similar virtualization certification.
Advanced knowledge of TCP/IP networking, LAN/WAN design, subnetting, routing, and Cisco networking equipment.
10+ years of experience producing, managing, and maintaining detailed architectural diagrams and documentation.
10+ years of experience supporting system and application installation across enterprise environments.
10+ years of experience monitoring and managing system health and performance of enterprise networks.
10+ years of demonstrated experience maintaining and managing Windows Server environments.
10+ years of experience managing Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, SCCM, and WSUS.
10+ years of experience in automation and scripting (e.g., PowerShell) to improve operational efficiencies.
10+ years of experience applying and maintaining DoD STIG compliance and security configurations.
10+ years of experience with HBSS and ACAS for vulnerability management and reporting.
10+ years of experience implementing and supporting RMF/DIARMF processes for DoD systems.
Proven ability to manage and prioritize multiple complex projects simultaneously, from design to implementation.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Proven experience leading and mentoring engineering teams or junior staff.
