Description:

The Systems Engineer is to help drive business growth by coordinating and contributing to the engineering and product development across disciplines for subfab products for both new and sustaining projects. They will contribute to project deliverables by working across the teams to align product requirement and working with the team to execute those activities. The systems engineer will have an nuanced understanding of the product function and it's individual components/sub-assemblies, helping the interdisciplinary team understand key functionality of their portion of the design.

Main Responsibilities
  • Provide abatement system level knowledge to the team to understand design decision impacts.
  • Understand key functionality of abatement sub-systems/sub-assemblies and how this affects tool performance to meet customers' expectations.
  • Knowledge of different chemistry and processes used within the semiconductor industry.
  • Have a solid understanding of mechanical, electrical and controls/software principles as they are used in Edwards products. Able to navigate CAD software for review of mechanical and electrical designs.
  • Able to support the build and evaluation, including test plans, of new design concepts and technical demonstrators as needed.
  • Drive design for manufacturing, serviceability, and to solve known quality issues. Keep informed of new and ongoing quality issues with other abatement platforms.
  • Serve as liaison between PC engineering disciplines and respective sales/application teams. Serve as initial contact point for field escalations.
  • Evaluate requested changes and/or upgrades to products, driven by known customer requests, quality issues, or internally driven ideas. Assist engineering management and PMO to create and maintain project queue with appropriate priorities.
  • Complete and coordinate interdisciplinary project level deliverables of larger abatement projects and more advanced programs that include multiple technologies.
  • Parse out understanding and requirements to the appropriate disciplines of multiple large-scale projects.
  • Agree and coordinate timelines for more complex interdisciplinary project deliverables
  • Provide guidance and influence across multiple projects and potentially multiple sites.

Skills / Knowledge / Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline or equivalent education/training such as military.
  • Minimum 5 years semiconductor/abatement experience or equivalent.
  • Knowledge and experience of the principles of electrical or mechanical component constructions and assembly.
  • Computer literate with a good command of MS Excel, Outlook Word, Teams, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize activities and workload.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • SAP experience a plus.
  • Ability to navigate schematics, P&ID and mechanical drawings. CAD experience a plus.
  • Software and controls experience a plus.
  • Experience of FMEA, HAZOP, DFMEA and other design and risk analysis techniques
  • Knowledge of appropriate EN/UL standards, Machinery Directive & Low voltage directive. Knowledge of Semi Standards.
