Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Systems Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in network hardware, infrastructure server environments, and operating systems, with a bachelor's degree and a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience. This role involves supervising, coordinating, designing, developing, and performing additions and changes to network hardware and systems, as well as providing direct support in day-to-day operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise, coordinate, design, develop, and perform additions and changes to network hardware, infrastructure server environments, operating systems, and attached devices.
• Investigate, analyze, recommend, configure, install, and test new network hardware and software.
• Provide direct support in day-to-day operations on network hardware and operating systems, including evaluating system utilization, monitoring response time, and detecting and correcting operational problems.
• Troubleshoot at the physical level of the network, working with network measurement hardware and software, and at the logical level, working with communication protocols.
• Participate in planning, design, technical review, and implementation for new network infrastructure hardware and network operating systems for voice and data communication networks.
• Perform systems management and integration functions, exhibiting proficiency with virtualization technologies and network administration.
• Maintain network infrastructure standards, including network communication protocols such as TCP/IP.
• Provide technical consultation, training, and support to IT staff as designated by the government.
• Diagnose and resolve complex communication problems.
• Ensure systems are current with approved patches and assist with certification and system accreditation tasks.
• Compose SOPs and Quick Reference guides for users.
• Provide top-level technical expertise responsible for the design and development of a client/server environment.
• Develop strategy for client/server systems and design infrastructure necessary to support that strategy.
• Advise on the selection of technological purchases regarding processing, data storage, data access, and applications development.
• Set standards for the client/server relational database structure for the organization.
• Advise on the feasibility of potential future projects to management.

Qualifications:

• Active Top-Secret clearance
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in systems engineering, network administration, or a related field.
• Strong experience with network hardware, infrastructure server environments, and operating systems.
• Proficiency in virtualization technologies and network administration.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple complex technical solutions.

Preferred Skills:

• Familiarity with network measurement hardware and software.
• Knowledge of communication protocols and network infrastructure standards.
• Experience with systems management and integration functions.
