We are looking to hire a Senior Tax Accountant, responsible for the company's direct and indirect tax functions, including tax provision, tax compliance, sales and use tax and property tax functions.

Essential Functions:
  • Responsible for the preparation of the tax provision on a quarterly, and annual basis.
  • Prepare, analyze and maintain the deferred tax roll forward of gross and tax effected temporary differences.
  • Prepare calculation of the effective tax rate on a consolidated and separate company basis.
  • Review and validate financial data provided to the outside accountant firm who prepares the federal and state income tax returns.
  • Analyze provision to tax return differences and submit journal entries as needed.
  • Prepare and file quarterly and annual estimates and extensions.
  • Work closely and support the annual financial statement audits with external auditors.
  • Provide monthly InfoLease Sales and Use Tax downloads and adjustment files to service provider for return preparation.
  • Pull lien date data from InfoLease and send it to the service provider for Property Tax return preparation.
  • Prepare monthly journal entries for Income Tax, Sales and Use Tax and Property Tax.
  • Prepare monthly reconciliation for Income Tax, Sales and Use Tax and Property Tax.
  • Monitor and respond to Sales Tax Inquiries Mailbox and Property Tax Inquiries Mailbox.
  • Maintain business license log and create check requests for renewals.
  • Conduct tax research for various tax related issues through tax research software, ELFA communications and Department of Revenue websites.
  • Assist with ad hoc projects.

Qualifications:
An ideal candidate would have the following credentials and experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent
  • Financial Services experience, specifically leasing
  • 4+ years' experience in Direct and Indirect Tax Functions
  • Strong research skills, knowledge and working experience of ASC 740
  • Excellent verbal, research, and written skills
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize, meet critical deadlines, and manage multiple workstreams
  • Detail oriented and able to communicate simple and complex tax information
  • Self-starter who takes ownership and acts with a sense of urgency
  • Team player who wants to develop themselves, the team, and grow with the company

Software Skills: Strong computer skills, experience with Microsoft Dynamics SL 2018, Tableau, InfoLease, OneSource Tax Products including Checkpoint, Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, and Access).
