Senior Tax Manager

We are excited to offer a career opportunity for a Senior Tax Manager to oversee and expand our robust tax services division. This role is perfect for a dynamic and experienced professional who will lead tax engagements across diverse industries, ensuring compliance and excellence in delivery. As a pivotal member of our leadership team, you will shape the strategic direction of our tax practices, mentor a growing team, and deepen client engagements with proactive, strategic tax planning.

Salary: DOE per year

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage tax engagements, ensuring compliance with all regulations and deadlines.
  • Prepare and review complex tax returns for individuals, corporations, and partnerships.
  • Handle the preparation and review of both current and deferred tax provisions according to ASC 740.
  • Provide strategic quarterly and year-end tax planning for diverse client portfolios.
  • Focus on building and maintaining strong, long-lasting client relationships.
  • Optimize engagement strategies focusing on planning, organization, and delegation to maximize efficiency and quality.
  • Direct the financial aspects of engagements including billing, collections, and project profitability.
  • Lead educational initiatives, providing training and mentorship to staff to foster professional growth and expertise in tax matters.
  • Energize business development efforts for the expansion and growth of our tax practice.
  • Fulfill additional duties as necessary to support the team and clients.

Minimum Position Qualifications:
  • At least 5 years of public accounting experience, specializing in corporate and partnership taxation.
  • Recent and relevant experience in tax preparation is mandatory.
  • Expertise in preparing and reviewing tax provisions under ASC 740.
  • Must be an active Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
  • Exceptional project management, analytical, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proven leadership abilities, with strong training and mentoring skills.
  • Unwavering commitment to professionalism, reliability, integrity, and collaboration.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in a Big 4, National, or significant Regional accounting firm highly regarded.
  • Proficiency in tax preparation and research software such as ProSystem fx Tax and Engagement, CCH, RIA, and BNA.
  • An advanced degree in accounting, tax, or law is highly preferable.
  • Demonstrated success in a sales-oriented role with a focus on expanding tax practice services.

Skills:
  • Advanced knowledge of tax codes and regulations applicable to various types of entities.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple timelines and complete tasks quickly within the constraints of clients' timelines and budgets.
  • High level of dedication to developing the team's expertise in tax matters.
  • Ability to effectively communicate tax strategies and compliance matters to clients.
  • Capacity for problem-solving and navigating complex tax scenarios.
