DuPont Electronics and Industrial has an exciting and challenging opportunity within the Advanced Circuit & Packaging (ACP) business for a R&D Senior Technical Associate, located in Marlborough, MA.
The open position in the metallization group of ACP will focus on the development, optimization and commercialization of new formulations used for electrodeposition of various metals in the semiconductor industry. Key areas of focus will include product and application development for lead-free solder and copper applications, ranging from Dual Damascene, Cu-Cu Bonding, Copper pillar/RDL, TSV, and IC substrate/PCB applications.

Key Responsibilities
- Support Research and Development of new additives and formulations used in electroplating products for the microelectronics industry
- Design and execute experiments, including operation of equipment and instrumentation for electroplating of metals, electrochemistry, XRD, chromatography, optical microscopy, scanning electron microscopy, mechanical properties characterization, etc.
- Support New Product Development programs from inception through product commercialization
- Work with global New Product Development, Applications & Development Engineering teams; Share technical findings and solicit technical input from colleagues
- Strict adherence to enhanced safety protocols and ability to work safely and participate in all group safety activities
Requirements
- B.S. in Chemistry or related discipline
- 1.5 years of industry experience in electroplating technologies
- Demonstrated ability to handle wet chemistry and operate standard chemical and analytical instrumentation and equipment.
- Highly motivated and effective at working both individually and within team environment to accomplish tasks and project goals
- A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States.
Preferred Qualifications
- Materials or Inorganic chemist with plating bath formulation or metal electrodeposition experience.
- Experience with various solution and material analytical techniques, including electrochemistry, XRD, Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), etc.
- Strong knowledge and demonstrated use of statistics and design of experiments (DOE) principles.
